KOTOR-style Mandalore helmet?

I had a mishap with the glove mold ripping a while back, and since I sent the original helmet back to Dex, I'm cleaning up one of the early test casts to remake the mold in a more flexible variety silicone. Thanks to those who have ordered one for your patience while I redo it and get your helmets to you.

I'd love to see those finished, I've seen some Mandalorion armor but none done real professionally.

I think it would better to keep the people who paid money for their orders, 6 months ago, informed of such
problems as well as of your solution.

Hey General Mayhem--

Thought I'd bring this thread back from the dead--hoping for an update here if possible, since it sounds like we're all still waiting on the product. What's the word?? :confused

The second glove mold went OK. I'm in the process of laying up the resin on the second one of the two I owe Dex for loaning us the original to make the mold, and I'll be pulling helmet castings as fast as I can manage. I expect to be shipping the first of them later this week, and others as fast as the one mold will allow.

Sorry again for the dalays. I really thought I'd be done with the run and on to other projects before now, it's taken more time (and resources) than I expected.

GM - thanks for the pictures but now I am confused - that looks like an
Imperial Guard helmet. I thought you were making the Mandalorian
variation as seen in several pictures at the start of this thread. ???

I'm making both styles. This thread had a companion thread about Royal Guard helmets, which has since sort of unofficially merged into this one.

;)

First time in this thread that I've seen a mention of someone making a Royal
Guard helmet. Anyway - how about showing pictures of the Mandalorian one?
Just in case it is not obvious: that is the one that GroundskeeperWillie and
myself have been asking about.

The master is under the silicone. I need to build up a couple more layers before adding the mother mold. I'm building it up in layers this time, since in having to redo the RG mold, I literally lost the price of a finished helmet in buckets of silicone every time I made the mold. This way uses less silicone, but needs to be built up a layer at a time.

Also, those that ordered the Mandalore version: I need your color preference.

Willie is the only one who stated a color preference, and is paying a little extra for a three color version. The standard helmet comes in your choice of 1 color. I can pretty much replicate any color you want as a base color. For those that are planning to paint their helmet, the color won't matter much, I know, but some people prefer one color over another for purposes of scratching/distressing, so I'm trying to offer options.
