†And Kong '05, too!

Well, I've done a few searches, which have come up with absolutely nothing... is it just me? I only ask 'cos I know there were a few threads about the gas bombs over the years. :unsure

Does anyone know where I can find blueprints for one of these? I'd love to get one made for a friend, so I'd really appreciate any reference, etc.

Thanks in advance, RPF!

This is a pic of an original 33 looks straightforward if you have a lathe .hope it helps:angel

Thanks, but I remember orthographic drawings of the gas bombs... anyone have those? I'm after accuracy, is all. :)

i see there's one on Yourprops.com. not much to see , but you might email the person who turned it. But it doesn't look too great as the older picture you have

I did find some casts of an apparently SU one on ebay around 3 years ago. Might pay to have a look;)

Regards

Here's mine (On the far right)-

gasbombsamples.jpg

It was cast off of one of the original 1933 Kong bombs (Actually, the bomb it was cast from can be seen in the 2005 Kong film as well....It has the same scuff and scratch marks on it.)

The height is 7"5/8 and the thickness is 5"
The diamteter of the black disc on the top and bottom is 2" 1/4, and the height of the black discs are 1 cm.

I've found nothing online, sadly.

I know there was orthographic drawings on here... anyone remember who had them?

I've got one around here somewhere that I still need to do the black on, but that one pic gives me an idea- Does anyone have the measurements and artwork for the crates? :)

You have forfeited your bomb, Sarge... send it to me! You tried to derail this thread!

:p

I have a 1933 gas bomb made from turned wood from the Proprunner run from about 4 years ago the sizes all taken from an original and they were very accurate and made from nice types of wood.

Mine still isn't painted

There was a showoff thread of a a painted one but looks like the pics are down :( http://www.therpf.com/showthread.php?t=3453

Proprunner turned out to be a sockpuppet of banned member Guy Raz and also I also believe D. Steins may also owe a member on this forum thousands of dollars http://www.therpf.com/showthread.php?t=74495
so looks like those gas grenade makers aren't too reputable.

Ah, now I remember... that's who had the orthographic drawings! That's the end of that, then.

Thank you! I'll drop you an email, for sure!

Ouch!!! Sorry...didn't know.
I approached him because he was using my pic from the posting I put on the RPF in his ebay auction. When I mentioned he was using my pic he offered to remove it and offered to send me a replica gas bomb which he did. It's REALLY nice so I'm sad to see he's done what he did.
