Kits are coming along well and I sending 3 out tomorrow with 5 more to follow or the next 2 days and I'm caught up.

Lets see some building guys. There's over 20 kits out there floating around. And again I ask. Who will be the first to refit the ship??? Don't look at me I'm busy! ;)

Steve

Mine too??

Refit? You know me Steve, I always build right out of the box! :rolleyes

Brandon that should have been there by now. I think they have. I'll have to send you another if it doesn't show up soon. You seem to have trouble with mail up there darn it.

All I did was copy and paste your address. So I know I didn't get it wrong.

Steve

Canada Post employees got locked out for week or so before the government legislated them back to work, so for a time all incoming mail to Canada was suspended. I figure its just sitting in a warehouse somewhere in WA state.

It'll show up eventally.

on a brighter note, Canada Post sent me my cheque for breaking the Enterprise-C :)

Brandon keep me informed. Good to hear you got reimbursed.

BTW folks all remaining kit orders have been shipped today and the 3 new ones go out tomorrow. I finally caught up.

Thanks for waiting.

Ooooh, oooh!! How much for these?

Lets see some building guys.

I'm stuck building more models for people so Voyager is dragging and so is my big E.

But paying work is important.

Steve,
Would you care to share how you handled your bases?

From my eye, they don't look thick enough to have enough meat to hold up the weight of the pole and ship without screwing into some sort of plate.

and do you typically run the wiring thru the base to a AC input jack?

where in the circuit do you put your power switches? Hidden in the kit? On the base?

Inquiring minds want to know

I use the ham radio microphone jack mounted at the CG and the wiring runs through the brass pole to a wall power supply that plugs in and his plugged into a power strip with other models.

If you look at Doug's model with the single pole the one half of the jack is pushed through the under belly hole and a large ring nut that comes with the jack screws down and locks it in from the inside. I have had no sagging or warping or changing in angle of attack since I finished Doug's model all those weeks ago.

Hope that helps,

Steve

Steve,
Thanks for the info, but I was more concerned with how you attach the pole to the flat base. are you using a threaded rod inside the pole? how dows the pole stay in the base

sorry for the confusion.

BTW progress report...I've just sealed up the secondary hull with all of the wiring. after some puty and sanding, it will be time to paint

Lou it's just a perfect hole and the pole is glued into the base. The mirrored plex is glued to a piece of plywood.

Glad to hear your that far. Can't wait to see it. Did you do your own lighting?

Steve

The lighting is a mish mash.
Start with this:

Strobes and nav lights from: Chasers &amp Sequencers | Lost in Space Jupiter 2 (scroll down about halfway to see the board I used)

It's actually more than you need since the circuit board is designed for more bulbs than you'll use, but it's a dream to work with and nicely priced. plus you can adjust the timing of the functions

I stol...borrowed your idea for the warp nacelles with the slight alteration of only using 5 blinking white LEDs around the edges plus one constant red LED in the center.

the windows are lit with some honking big 10mm warm white LEDs I had from another project evenly spaced in the ball and secondary hull.

the test run before I sealed everything up was very promising. We'll see how it turns out after the paint goes on
