I'm officially on to paint! I'm really happy how the finish turned out having used automotive paint.

While waiting for paint to dry, I finished these. The lighting makes them look lighter than they really are.

Some good news for you is that they actually make the mini madbull launchers for airsoft pistols that function.

The Madbull grenade launchers only use replica 40mm grenade shells. Wouldn't work with your pistol, SD...

Well I may have to pick one of those up and see if I can retro fit it! Probably ineffective for airsoft but still pretty cool

If you haven't found a source for checkering yet, have you asked a gunsmith? I'm sure any good gunsmith will be able to checker them for you.

I have asked around a bit and for those services it would be pretty pricey. I have to just log some hours practicing on scrap wood.

Good luck with it mate, I sat down yesterday and did this- It's amazing what you can make from scraps, and it's a gbb full metal airsoft like yours. It would be great if you get the launcher functioning.

Ah, I was hoping I might get to see it in person :/

I made a stormtrooper blaster out of an S&T sterling a couple of weeks ago too- standard stuff doesn't interest me too much :D
