Kingdom of Heaven crusader costumes

I'm watching "Kingdom of Heaven" (the director's cut) right now, and really enjoying it. I especially like the costumes of the Templar Knights and the other costume of the main character, Balian - the one with the tunic that has the 7(?) crosses on it and the chain mail underneath.

Does anyone know of any really good references/resources for making ones own Crusader-era costumes?

No but I enjoyed the DC as well. There's just something about the Templar outfits. Ultra cool. Good luck mate.

For a while Museum Replicas had the license for the KoH costumes. The stuff they made was suprisingly not bad IMO. I don't think they still make the official costumes, but they should have a couple of crusader/Templar style costumes available.

Towards the end, I saw a fellow dressed up in Hospitaller garb (black, with white cross).. it was awesome.

I managed to find some stuff by using the SCA's website as a launchpad.

Ok, that thread on the Armor Archive was awesome. I never even thought about dressing as a Lazar Knight for the SCA. Leper knights. :lol

Yeah I had the Knight of Jerusalem tunic and Guy's Sword and Scabbard (mistakenly named Sword of Tiberius by MRL) and they were surprisingly not bad. Too bad the sizing sucked. It was MRL's fun S/M and L/XL. Guaranteed to not fit anyone!
