Hey guys, I am attempting to build the Killzone 3 Capture Trooper for my younger brother for Halloween. (Hopefully)
I'm going to start by saying that pretty much everything except for the helmet will be made from scratch. The helmet i found a pep file, and am trying to do the whole bondo way of it (first time as well). I've found numerous reference images and also Skylows' build for the fan film "Killzone Intercept". I am only using Skylows work as reference for mainly proportioning in certain areas as he posted some up close shots of the armor.
Anyway, the pictures i have below shows where i am so far. For the armor i drew/sized and cut out my own stencils on cardstock which i then traced onto foam. After i had the foam cut out i then cut the foam in a v shape without going all the way through the foam so i could get the ridges i needed to angle the foam. I learned that from watching the tutorial from "Punished Props *Prop Shop*". Anyways, then once all the angles are cut the way i needed them, i used hot glue to fill and hold the foam together as i formed the angles i needed. This was done for all of the torso parts.
The guantlet is a pringles can that i cut and attached different sizes of foam that i cut and glued to the can to replicate the look of the guantlet (i mainly looked at skylows picture for this as i couldnt get a good close up of the guantlet elsewhere). The blade for the guantlet will be removable and held in place by magnets just to make it easy, simple and less time consuming.
I will be updating this as i get farther and feel i have done enough to where its worth posting(i work full time and have other life responsibilities to get to first, but i try to get to it when i can).
But anyways, let me know what you guys think, like i said, i'll update as i get more done.
