I remember when TRON first came out. I was 17 and doing all the stupid stuff lots of us rambunctious teens did in the 80s. There was a Head shop right beside the theater we went to and there was these little brown bottles of stuff labelled "record cleaner" that--well, lets just say they were really good for killing brain cells. That stuff mixed with the light cycle routine was beyond mind blowing!!
......not endorsing that kind of behavior but MAN, WHAT A TRIP!!
It's definitely one of those 80's classics that I always put in the watch rotation. I will never not love that movie and would sell my soul for TRON Uprising to come back. It was getting so good, so of course Disney ended it, because if they aren't ruining something for someone they aren't doing their job apparently.
I guess they were referring to the program Tron that could free the computer world rather than the player named Tron?
Other than that I can’t think of any reason why they named the movie after someone else than Flynn
Well, Tron is kind of the MacGuffin of the original movie. Most of the characters' decisions are in service to activating and empowering Tron, and placing him in the right place at the right time.
I remember huge news stories about the tron video game when it was released as well. I remeber being mad that they jacked the price up to 50 cents too .
