...t's possible that discovery from Gina Carano's lawsuit might cause that to be made public. Which is why Disney is likely to settle with Gina.
I believe Iger knows all the dirty laundry, but not the Board, and obviously not the shareholders. I got the impression that Disney executive lawyers were convincing him that they can win the lawsuit against Carano. Which is bunk, considering the evidence she's bringing.

As predicted, Gina Carano has settled with Disney:

Tell me Cara Dune isn't coming back...

Is it possible this was arranged months ago, and Iger is releasing now, so that it's closer to Kennedy's official exit?
If this doesn't prove that Kennedy is powerless and already gone in every way but on paper, then nothing will.

You beat me to it! I just found out. Great news.

She was also suing for lost income due to the cancellation of her Rangers show. Undisclosed amount.

Plus they factor in punitive damages, emotional distress, the fact that her agency fired her, etc.
She still only filed for 75k and her job back. She got a tentative (never gonna happen) we'll look for projects to work together on and a settlement. No one in their right mind, never mind a massive corporation with elite level representation, is going to pay over the file amount.
Factor in what they sacked her for and who was sponsoring her legal fees, and their recent controversy, she would've been ragdolled through the media had it gone to court. She would never have worked again.

I havent been a Star Wars fan since TLJ, and whole heartedly blame Disney for that, would love nothing more than for them to take a big hit. But realistically, she took the easy way out and bailed.

I am hearing from inside now. Details coming late tonight, but the story I heard is that she got an astronomical amount. I'll break it down later.

I'm telling you, the discovery phase would have sunk major players at the top. She held all the cards.

And yes, she wants to come back.

Details in a few hours!

Okay, this is what I've got. It's a big dump, there are a couple major kickers!
  1. Gina was scheduled to appear both in The Mandalorian Season 3 AND Ahsoka Season 1. The settlement compensates her for the loss of income in not appearing in those seasons. (I was way off thinking it was astronomical.)

  2. Gina's settlement includes an agreement to co-star in at least one season of some show in the future, plus appear in future movies. Yes, she wants back in.

  3. John Favreau and Dave Filoni, both delighted, are right now considering reshoots for The Mandalorian and Grogu movie to incorporate Cara Dune.

  4. John Favreau and Dave Filoni are seriously examining the viability of resurrecting the Rangers of the Republic show. No decision has been made yet.

  5. While Kathleen Kennedy's office at Lucasfilm has indeed been empty for many months, it is only now that Kennedy's secretary has also been removed from the adjoining office, and Favreau's secretary is being moved in. The implication here is crystal clear: I believe Favreau is to be the next Lucasfilm president.

  6. Kevin Feige is considering snagging Gina for an unknown Marvel role, in order to beat DC to the punch because of the rumor that DC wants her to play the character Artemis.

  7. Pedro Pascal is NOT happy that Gina is back. While they were previously close during and after filming, Pedro's become quite a bit more politically active, and this move by Disney was unexpected...by him.
Take what you will from this. There are political implications in the above, but we know better than to wax political here. :)

I will happily wax anti pascal. He really puts me off. I have avoided everything past season one Mando and every movie he has put out. The inclusion, no, the saturation of just his face, everywhere, has such a creepy vibe to it. Feels so much like propaganda machinery at work that I might very well be missing out on some good films. I just don't feel that yet so I will continue to ride the non pascal train for a bit.

I agree with you, and I suspect studios are starting to realize the oversaturation. That fact that no one's reining him in on social media made it a perfect time for Gina to strike make a really strong case.

Sad, because he's a darn fine actor too. Very compelling in almost everything I've seen him in.

Well, he's essentially NOT "Mando" for most of the time you see the character onscreen for the TV series.... it's usually the two stuntmen in the Mandalorian costume, with Pascal just dubbing the voice.
