Kamen Rider Kabuto Generation

So, First thread yay.
Most of the prop building I have gotten into has been for friends or for Kamen Rider. Sadly I'm a touku nut and have been since Saban corrupted all things in the early 90's on my Saturday mornings. We'll my current build didn't get anywhere this year due to family meddling, so I dusted off an old Project. My friend Moose and I tried to build a kick hopper set two years ago.

It was our very first pep attempt. Sadly we rushed the project too much and I burned off half my face the day before the con....... Many complimented me on my deadpool make up though..... It helped we sewed up some snazzy pajaymas that night.

So repair and Revamp Kick hopper progress.

Had the major armor pieces already finished but was missing all the accessories.
So lets use some new materials.

Tinted Fiberglass to red color. Sadly My Eye pieces couldn't hold up to the molding of it. Gonna just flat glass the eyes until that vacuformer gets built.

Craft foam for the suit armor. The pvc sealing didn't quite do it for me last time but perseverance. Plasti dip makes a wonderful sealer for the foam takes the paint and has a clear coat for a glossy shine. The knee cap worked out so moving on to the rest. Purchased a Zentai suit and will attempt to attach them with super 77 adhesive as the elastic just couldn't hold them in place the last time.

the buckle was a simplified pep and we just couldn't make it or the anchor jack work. So this time PINK FOAM....... and smoothcast.

finally touching up the paint job on the old bits. Also coating with Super Glaze for that added protection and glossy finish. Will update more soon but please let me know about any new materials or methods that might help. After this I'll be working on a DiEnd build.

Ah also resined in pieces of ply wood into the buckle pieces. Then placed dowels top and bottom on the corners. Pinched the whole thing with more foam after resin and then started resining the outside pieces. This was all so it would pivot. My buckle and zecter are a little oversized but what can you do at this point but finish up.

Seriously though give me some commentary please..... I can take the criticism.

Very nice use of materials. I am so use to seeing people sculpt these things out of clay. The foam is interesting.

Never tried the clay. I'm probably gonna go with a full foam build for the next one but It's essentially full body armor. Still working out the best way for helmets. Maybe clay will be the next experiment.

Been a while but things are starting to come together.

Started Painting the put together belt.

And my whole shoe process, slips on and looks pretty close. One shoe completed here and the other just needs the green ankle added.

Still need one more coat on the helmet and breastplate. I'm going to have to go with flat tinted plexiglass for the eyes, at least until I get a vacuformer built.
Other than that I need to attach the foam armor plates to the zentai suit tomorrow night. Con is this weekend wonder if I'll have it done for saturday.
Hopefully the shop is slow tomorrow so I can do the wrist and ankle bands and paint the zecter.
