K.I.T.T. Replica progress

Andy,
You have taken it to the next level with your K.I.T.T. Replica.
I'm a longtime fan of the show. (original on 08) as well as being a huge Pontiac fan and owner. I can see the love that you've put into it. It's worth so much more when you build it yourself and you have built one heck of a representation of the car that we all wanted when we were kids.
I would imagine that sitting behind the wheel in "Darth Vader's Bathroom" is a bit surreal.
I also think I saw that you had the tow rig under the front cap, which is awesome and definitely makes it closer to screen used car for sure. I haven't seen that on any others.
Right now I'm just so jealous that you have what I dream to have but now I know who to contact when I have a question about a conversion when I do one. ;)
Congrats on the build and I can't wait to see more.

I'm in awe :love wonderful.
Seriously if I win the lottery one of my first acts would be to commission a KITT. Season 1 of course.

Just out of interest what's the legal position on a car having a yoke instead of a steering wheel ?

See post #83..........

Andy has sold his KITT to someone else. He no longer has it.

Sorry to read this.

But what a car! Fantastic job on the build! Amazing!

And the video revealed something to me that up until this day I did not know...

After all the years of watching Knight Rider as a teenager, I had absolutely no idea where KITT's voice modulator LED was located. Now I know it's in the center of the dashboard. :thumbsup :lol

I'll just echo what others have said. A really fantastic job.

I saw one of the "original" cars at World Expo '88 which was held here in Brisbane. Possibly it was an "original" car made for doing the tours of events. It had a big cable coming out from under it which led to a little tower. One could "talk" with the car and the man in little tower would talk back in a KITT voice. Kids loved it though. It did look flawless and everything lit up that should.
