Hi everyone!

I havn't really posted any progress on my KITT replica here yet and wanted to share some of my progress with you all.

I've been working on it for just over three years now and have finally started to make some ground. It's an original '83 Trans Am that I have been converting into a season 1 replica. I still have more progress to make like upper console and odds and ends but it's at least to a drivable point now.

Here are some progress pics.

That's got to be one of the coolest things I've seen on the RPF! KITT is on my very long list of "things to do" but I'm always happy to drool over someone elses!

Did you do all the electronics yourself?

Sean

WOW!!!!!!!!!! Can I say BAD ASS? Cuz that is BAD ASS that really is one of the coolest projects I've seen here!

Amazing job! I've always wanted one of those. Very cool to see the progress pics. Nice. :thumbsup

Great job. I've seen some KITT conversions that look slapped together but yours looks great and it looks like you took your time on prepping the fiberglass dash.

You've gone completely overboard, and I approve.

Looks like a very clean install. Great attention to detail.

Is the car as mechanically flawless as the looks?

i LOVE that you're using CRTs instead of flat-panel LCD monitors.

great job on the build. a season 1/2 KITT is one of my dream projects...

Thank you everyone for all the great compliments!

Sean, I didn't build the main dash elects myself. They are built by a gentleman in N.C.

The car is mechanically in great shape. It's original and not much changed except for regular maintainence items. 60k mi. car with 305 Crossfire & 700R4 WS6 package. I did drop the rear axle out of the car so I could upgrade the in tank fuel pump to a higher pressure one and when I did I sandblasted everything in the back, ie: axle housing, control arms, panhard bar, ect. and repainted everything.

I'd still like to do the front lower control arms in the future just to match the back, but the car is very clean with no rust other than the normal surface on the front lower control arms.

Thanks again everyone!
