K.I.T.T. Replica progress

What can I say that hasn't been said already.:eek This has got to be the prop to end ALL props.:love Congradulations on making your Dreams come true. Yours and about a million of the rest of us.:lol Will there be a K.A.R.R. in the future :confused

This is very cool. I loved this show as a kid and remember going to a car show to see one of the KITTs from the show on display. I couldn't sit in it but could look through the windows.

Are you building the overhead console as well?

Looking great Andy, :thumbsup

Now get that puppy registered and come on down.

We can tear up the show scene with two KITTs. maybe
a little town terrorizing KITT/KARR street chase. LOL.

Can't wait to see that baby in person.

See ya soon!

but it's at least to a drivable point now.
At least to a drivable point now??? That build is FLAWLESS!!!

Sir, you have one of the best reproduction KITT ever! Great job!!!

Beautiful car.... I like the fact that the blackout visors on the nose aren't sloping down a bit as on screen but straight /flat accross because as all old ta owners know the headlights usually bang into the visor going up. Very nice positioning on the fog lamps also....Man, I luv that look:love. I owned a 83 also and fixed her up just like KITT on the outside only, but the inside was so worn and faded kinda killed my aspiration to continue. Best part is laying on the gloss black after the primer drooling all over the gorgeous lines on the body especially the hood. Nobody makes a sculpted intake like that like Pontiac.... R.I.P. The bad part was the wheel caps kept popping off hitting potholes and there not cheap either. Theres probabaly a new method of keeping em on these days though. Very hard to find a decent 82/83 without rust for mods...

That's about the coolest piece of machinery I have ever seen. Does it make teh woom-woom sound when the hood light moves?

K.A.R.R. would be nice. I did go back and forth for a while on which to build. I was leaning toward the S1 K.A.R.R. which is pretty much identical to what I have now outside of the voicebox display. S3 K.A.R.R. is cool with the two tone and amber scanner but I'm just a fan of all black. Maybe either a 3rd or 4th season K.I.T.T. replica or a 4th season convertible...??? I'm even playing around with the idea of building a 2nd season K.I.T.T. :eek

Yes, I do have all the parts to finish the upper console, it's just a matter of doing it.

I'm shooting for either this week or next to get it registered, Brian. Terrorizing sounds like fun. :love

It's generally accepted now that large industrial strength zip-ties be used to hold the caps on. Yes, they are pricey.

Yup, makes the woom-woom sound. I have mine programed to make the turbine sound effect upon start-up with the "all-on" feature and has the wind up and wind down, then goes into the "Knight of the Phoenix" scan which is a sole scan only heard in the Pilot episode. Ironically very similair to the Cylon sound and eye scanner which Glen Larson borrowed from his Battlestar series.

It also features many different scan patterns from the series along with K.A.R.R.'s scan from "Trust Doesn't Rust" and the scan pattern and sound effect from the '08 Mustang KR series.

I really want to thank EVERYONE again for the GREAT WORDS!!! I've poured a lot into this project and I'm very happy that so many like it.

Thanks again everyone!!!

Andy

Andy... that is BAD ASS! I would be very proud of that car! Truly a work of art. Well done!

I just watched an episode today with Goliath the truck.... and I thought, I would love to have a KITT car to cruise around town in. Great worK!!

DAMN.

That is the finest KITT I've seen to date. Bravo!

This is a project I wanted to do myself... so very badly. Went so far as getting the car, the rims, the correct hood, PMD seats and a full tan interior to replace the grey one in the car I had. However I never had the money to take it further than that, and the T/A became my daily-driver. *sigh* Got rid of her a number of years ago.. and most of the stuff I'd gathered. (I still have a hood in the basement with a functional scoop.)

Very very envious. Still hope to own a KITT one day... congrats on a real stunner!

Thats absolutely stunning...one of the best TV shows made. Ok, maybe not, but the car was wicked cool!

I wish my dashboard looked like that...

Oh, and Turbo-Boost would be a huge bonus as well!
