Just got my budget MR Trooper bucket and all i can say is i love it :)

Which version is that? The 'Play' version looks dire... :(

Well mine arrived today and I am more than pleasantly surprised. I am normally a real purist when it comes to stormtrooper lids and to be honest I bought this out of curiousity and for the sake of buying it for the collection. Funnily enough the pics in this thread are good but really don't do this piece justice.

First thing that hit me was it is a super solid construction (not like the Don Post or Rubies low end helmets) and even though it is made from god knows how many pieces it goes together great and the seams are almost unnoticeable unless scrutinised up close.

The proportions and size are not a boot up the arse off a real lid and for the cash it is a great buy.

The mic tips are very much like the SDS helmets mic tips they have the same slightly rippled texture to the plastic, the seam and the stand off parts are the same and as with the SDS are proportioned slightly differently to castings taken from a real helmet. No Hovi mix Pa2 written on them but still very accurate none the less.

This is a reasonably priced and reasonably accurate helmet that should be great for the guys who want to troop in something that looks great to the general public.

If you dropped it in the car park it would survive no problem and you wouldn't be heartbroken with a few scuffs for the price it is going for :)

A nice fun piece.

Cheers Chris

Hate to state the obvious, but it says on the play.com website that it is a UK exclusive, and since it is an MR item, and we know MR is no longer a STAR WARS licensee, and that this helmet was never on any of MR's US merchandise release lists, I expect that it will NEVER see US distribution.

Someone tell me if that's a bad assumption.

Rick

I don't think any other retailers will be seeing any i understand there was a shortfall in the number produced like with the LE helmet but hey why sweat you'll probably find these available again in the summer under the name Efx

I've just received my helmet and it doesn't look too bad
Here it is next to an FX helmet (FX on left)

Oh, it does. It helps me hate you with every ounce of envy I can muster. I am sending my envy/hate rays from my eyes now. Feel it yet? How about now?

Damn, I want one.

Anyone with an FX lid should seriously buy this bucket. Even more so the 501st should arrange a bulk order if possible regardless of MR losing the license LOL

Can I be the first to sign up for part of that action?

Shipping charges from the UK to the US are terrible just now since the Royal Mail changed their shipping rates. There is a chance the shipping will cost close to the price of the helmet.

It is possibly worth while getting a shipping price to see if it is even worth buying and shipping these.

If shipping works out to be reasonable I am the same as sidewinder I will also help anybody trying to get one of these if they do not become available in the US.

Cheers Chris
