Just got my budget MR Trooper bucket and all i can say is i love it :)

There should be no excuses now for those tight assed friggin bobble head FX wearers now with this helmet.

OK, seriously: Someone POST A LINK to where we can buy one in the US. Veiled hints not accepted. Who is selling these lids?

Any chance of seeing a picture with somone wearing this on their head ? Would be nice to get a comparison. In the picture it looks small, so that would help a bit.

I agree with the FX helmet comment. I have an RT-Mod, fits like a glove and a 10000 times more accurate than the FX. And since you can buy it built up ready to wear ( or in kitform) for like a ridiculous cheap price I dont know why anyone would still wear the FX, when there are cheaper / more accurate versions out there.

And yes a link please to buying this in North Am please :):thumbsup

How are these :)

Try a few shots zoomed in all the way but standing back far enough to fill the frame. See how that looks.

:angry

SO,...where can a "tight-ass" like me get one????

I wouldnt want to continue shaming my bobble-headed self in your eyes.

That was exactly my point. Previous helmets at this kind of price like the Don Post, Don Post Classic Action, Rubies and Altmann's look pretty ropey by comparison

Cheers

A less smelly turd is still a turd though and lets be honest if this was a fanmade item nobody would want one.
Is it better than previous official helmets released ? yes.
Is it anywhere close to a trooper helmet ? no not really.

For me it's just a halloween mask not a replica.

Yup not bad at all, good shots of the helmet. I think it would be okay to troop in if you were changing over from the FX helm to something more upgraded later. It looks ( IMO )1000 times better than the FX.

I would guess however the bubble lense would have to be replaced unless they have a new way of being able to see out of them than I am aware. I hatted bubble lenses and when I had an FX I changed it over before my first troop.

Is the frown drilled out and has mesh so you have some air flow or it still sealed over ?

It looks pretty good for the money.

Really, a good budget alternative for many people.

Some purists may hate it - but I think it looks cool.:thumbsup

But there are plenty of people out there who are outside of this hobby and £60/$120 is probably all they can afford to spend.

With this in mind its a significant improvement over what was available before. Given 90% of 501st members troop in the less accurate FX helmet I'd personally consider it an improvement, rather than a "turd"

Indeed, well said Jez.

There are plenty of people INSIDE this hobby where $120 is all they can afford to spend.

Harsh to call it a 'turd'. THIS is a turd ;)

Eye of the beholder, and all that.

Ok bad choice of phrase :lol the turd thing was an analogy(pardon the pun),all i was saying was just because this is better than previous innacurate official trooper lids it doesn't mean that it is a good trooper lid.
I wasn't saying the lids a turd :unsure

It's just a shame in my eyes because i think they could have produced something which was on par visually with some of the more accurate fanmade options available for the same price as this.
I'm personally dissapointed in it same as the fibreglass one they made.
I just don't see this as a collectors piece i see it as a halloween mask, for me it's not a replica its a mass produced toyshop item.
That's just my opinion.

And yeah it's better than an FX but then i dont like those either.

I'd kill to have one of these.

I troop with FX armor, but I have an AP helmet.

I go Sandtrooper, but I haven't gone 100% dirty because I don't want to dirty up my AP helmet.

I know the day will come when I don't troop anymore, and I will want to display my AP helmet. I don't want to have to remove the sand/weathering from such a beautiful piece.

With a helmet like this MR version, I could troop without worrying about a few dings, and I could finally go all the way with the dirt and sand.
