Hey Guys First let me say THIS IS A GREAT THREAD, and that you all have done an AMAZING job of researching this. Of course I am also working on my own Gradey Costume. So far I have picked up the Blue ORVIS shirt in XL and I must say that it fits me great! I then, thanks to Iggy's post, saw that after buying my shirt on July 5th at full price It is now on a MASSIVE SALE! .... So I took advantage of the sale, called them up they agreed to credit my account the difference in the sale price and then i use that $ plus a gift card to pick up a grey shirt and the SPECIAL STORE EXCLUSIVE BELT! WOOT WOOT! Out of pocket i only spent $30!!! Just as a heads up when I gave the ORVIS guy the belt's Item number they list the belt in their rerecords as an $80 belt, but its still $49 at the retail store so just ask them to call and check the price at one of their local retail stores and they will match the store price of $49!!! WOOT WOOT!

For now I will be using a Budget Vest. Currently the one I intend to use is my brown DULUTH trading company one because i cant justify the $ for a better one at this time...

I've talked to Orvis several times today, and they will probably put the belt on the website soon. The last lady I spoke to said her supervisor would write a recommendation. And as mentioned above, the belt is $80. I didn't follow through with the purchase after finding this out; however I was also not given the $49 deal. ><

In case I mis spoke earlier I DID get the $49 price instead of the $80 one once my customer service rep verifiedd the retail store's price. I just asked about the price difference and he called the store nearest me ( Richmond Va). It was easy.

No, I gotchya! I was just suprized to see how much it was when the representative told me my total. Plus, I needed to pay with PayPal; which I couldn't do over the phone.

So if someone just so happens to go to an Orvis store and get a size 34 belt at the $50 price point, I'd PayPal ya some money for it.

I went to the Richmond store to pick up my shirt and belt. They were very helpful and friendly and even helped me decide between the grey shirt or the blue shirt. We ended up agreeing on the grey after looking at few pictures from the movie.

Yeah, hard to get close to screen accurate here outside of just ponying up the cash for the legit one. This is the one I went with. Szco Courier Patch Knife. Similar blade and handle shape, similar size, the woodgrain has a similar appearance of the pattern on Grady's knife and it even has the three pins in the handle like his.

I didn't want to invest in an expensive knife unless it was THE knife, especially when you wouldn't even be able to use it at cons, so I went with this one for now. It's a pretty nice knife for only $10.95 and even comes with a nice nifty sheath.

As far as lookalikes go, I might be making a replica of the rifle out of MDF/wood, since none of the other avenues are all that appealing to me and it seems like a fun and challenging build.

I cannot find the Eastlands ANYWHERE in Canada, nor do most of the sites in the States that have them in my size(Kohl's, etc) mail here. Frikkin' frustrating.
Finally found a pair on Amazon.com. usually, nobody there ships to Vancouver, but these guys do-boots on the way!

yeah so do i, it's between the middle and right one, middle is £65 and the right is £40, the right one has the fire starter kit attached which would come in handy too but the middle does look cool.

EDIT: the middle one is 205mm long, looking at that length on me it looks quite big? any ideas on the screen length? just waiting for the length of the right one.

Word to the wise, while I was in store trying on the belt the kind manager told me with their belts it's wise to go a size up.

That said I'm going to call them see if I can get a credit for the shirt at that awesome half off price! Thanks resourceful people. The rest of my gear arrives today and I'm pumped!

Chris was joking. He says immediately after in that video that the watch "doesn't do that."
