Jurassic Park Can Shape

my only flaw is that I can see faintly the text underneath the label of the yardley can. Not sure how I can get rid of that.
You could have hit the area (that would be under the label) with white paint, then let dry before applying the decal.

If I was to do that then the red part will be alot lighter looking.

Is that display stand from a previous run? I'd like to try and find something like that.

So I did another can I had and I printed the label peeled it and stuck it on another piece of vinyl and BAM you cant see the text underneath. I'm thinking about selling this can 20180510_001852.jpg20180510_001907.jpg20180510_001956.jpg20180510_002036.jpg20180510_002055.jpg20180510_002047.jpg

Sorry I missed out on the stand. I'm thinking about doing the wrap on a more accurate can- at this point is there consensus on the best source for the wrap? Is it colorfast?

I'm going to turn my Penguin UltraDry Protector can into a Barbasol can. The Penguin is a fraction of a millimeter in diameter BIGGER. About the thickness of a piece of cardstock. Since the Penguin can is slightly bigger (as opposed to smaller) the Cryogenics insert would still fit nicely into the Penguin can. I've tried the blue Barbasol top on the Penguin can and just the small dispensing tube would have to be trimmed off slightly to make the blue cap fit. I'll hit the whole can with a gloss white, to cover the silver top and the old label before applying the new Barbasol label. I don't have one of those can openers that cuts the side of the can, instead of the top, so I'll have to get one of those. (they're cheap, right ?) And then use it to keep trimming the can till it's the right height.

The Penguin can is $7 plus shipping and a Barbasol can was another $2.50 at CVS for the blue cap, plus the minor cost of the can opener makes this very cost effective.

This sounds like an interesting alternative. Thanks for sharing. Do you have any photos?

I have everything but the can opener to get started. I might make a trip to target or Walmart tomorrow to their kitchenware section for that.

Excellent work sir!

For those who dont sweat the small stuff, I think Rylos is acceptable given the circumstances!

But for the die hard fan like myself, matching the holy grail prop is why I attend this site. The devil is in the details after all - details are the bread and butter of the RPF!
So I matched up my replica on the right to nedrys can on the left. I'm loving this can better than the newer cans looks 100%View attachment 816267

Okay, I'm ready to begin. My Penguin waterproofing can, my Barbasol can for the blue top, and my side cutting can opener that I got at CVS. I paid $11 for the can opener, I might have gotten a better price if I shopped around or waited till they sent me a coupon to my email.

ALWAYS REMEMBER TO REMOVE ALL OF THE PRESSURE BEFORE CUTTING INTO ANY CAN.

With some effort and the MANUAL can opener, I got the bottom off. I do not suggest using one of those electric ones, this isn't the type of can it is meant to open. ;)

----------edit------------------

Okay, the can opener will not do anything further. After cutting off the bottom, it will not keep cutting off STRIPS like I had hoped. The remaining material is not the right thickness for the opener to cut through. Looks like I might have to resort to a hacksaw.
