Jumanji board!

barkhane: no, no magnet system made, or planed to be made. Sorry can't help you with this :(

Getting closer to the end and the Board finished :D

I am not sure if I will let the small inside-compartment-lids as they are painted right now, or if I go to paint them in one color only, to be screen-accurate.
However the entire Board is off here and there from being SA and the depending on the lightning it still look perfect. What do you think?

Below the dome, I've have some space to attach a LED-System to get the dome light up (maybe)

Just for fun... already started to hear some "far away drums" ;)

Great !! Some question about the rules. Which font do you use ? and how do you print them ?
what kind of wood do you used for the lid of the game ?
thanks !

Thanks for your feedback Greeky04 and barkhane :D

I will confirm the font name later this evening (german time). I do not have it in mind right now.
About the printing i tried a lot things/suggestions I've found in the internet. From heat transfer from
a laser copy print directly to the wood over self-adhesiv decals printed and glued on the wood. None of
it gave me the results I am looking for. Finally I have found this... http://www.microwood.com/
What they offer is a paper based veneer. It does have the "feel, touch and even smell" of "the natural beauty of wood".
You can run those paper through your laser printer (they do not recommand to run it through
printers I think, but it work if you pay attention to the grain direction ;) and lightly sand it to the look you
want to achive.

The entire boad (except the resin-cast parts from gemma) is made of "cheap" pine wood. If just bought ready made "book-shelfs"
in the correct thickness, which I've cutted down to my needs.

Let me know if you need more infos!

barkhane: The font I have used (I think I've found this info. somewhere arround here) is COPPERPLATE GOTHIC BOLD!
It is not 1:1 identical but pretty close!

Hey guys :)
I've been out of the loop for a while but thanks for all the nice comments about this board. I decided to do a few more for commissions but have now stopped again for the time being. Don't have the space/time any more to continue doing it. But I do want to let you know that I have one extra for sale and I've had so many e-mails and requests that I'm just going to put it on ebay. I'll be putting the link up soon so you guys can have a look. The new boards we have made are an improvement for sure on this first one.

Here's some pictures of our newest one. We made some changes from the first one that I made on my own. This time myself and my husband had a go at it together and I think it looks more screen accurate than the last. Made some changes on the front Jumanji logo, the inner playing board, and the actual colour of the stain. Also did the carving slightly different this time- more definition and detail.
Really pleased with these new additions :)

hey gemma fantastic work, a question - when you make you moulds do you have to put some sort of release agent over you carvings before pouring the silicon casting in?

Everything I cast was originally sculpted from plastelline so I really didn't need a release agent. Everything that I carved in wood I never cast.
