Jon Snow weathering

I'm working on a Jon Snow outfit for halloween, his black watch gear. It's not screen accurate, it's a rush job, but I think that proper weathering will really make it pop, and I'm coming to you all for advice!

Here is what I have

Here is the weathering that I'd like to imitate

Spray paint, i think. Maybe acrylic over that? That's as far as I've gotten planning-wise, but if anyone has any ideas..I'd like to hear them :)

For a rush job it looks pretty good!
As far as weathering goes, spray paint and fabric normally don't mix too well, at least in my experience. I've weathered a few costume items with acrylic paint and they've turned out okay. A friend of mine used to use some kind of powder (cant remember the name of it) that came in different colours, put that and the costume in a bag, shook it up, and the costume came out looking excellently dirty.
Someone on here might have some more tips for that sort of thing?

Hmm, I'm sure there are better ideas from more expieranced members, but maybe mix a lot of salt desolved in water and pray it on and see if that leaves a salty white stain behind?
or if you have a car go rub the costume on it ( assuming it's dirty) this always leaves a nasty mess on my suits, lol.

as for destressing the leather try using a clean red brink to scuff it up, this will break up that shinny new leather look and round the edges so it looks worn.

Best of luck!

I'm doing the same costume and I planning on throwing some baby powder on it. Kinda bring out some details with snow.

How are you keeping your cape on. I haven't figured out how to attach it with running a string across the chest. I have the two belts crossing for the harness but I'm stumped.

My cloak is two full size curtains with one long belt forming a figure 8-around my neck and torso.

I've started with acrylic paint. I'm planning on weathering the leather with some abrasive materials. I just want the snow and frost to look good! Baby powder might work, but I hate the smell.

I have no idea if this would work or if it might even harm the costume, but what about canned "snow" that people spray onto Christmas trees?

Beautiful job on the costume, by the way.

This costume is amazing! I'm planning on making this as well, since I got lucky enough to look close to Kit Harington, just got to sketch out the whole thing. Do you have any other pictures of your suit? 10/10 man, absolutely beautiful.
