Jodo’s Star Wars Basement Renovation (WIP)

Thanks guys! The large size panels are from Home Depot! They’re plastic lattice, meant for decks.

No major updates yet…I have been spending hours (HOURS) using Goo-Gone to remove adhesive off the tile. The previous owners laid carpet and used a few different types of glue to secure it. I’ve been scrapping this stuff off for days.
If only we had a Home Depo in the UK...

Had a lot of personal issues lately, so haven’t worked on this at all. I did get some more gak in the mail though, which should round things out for now.

I also decided to hire someone to rewire the switches, and do a new ceiling fan next year. That way I can space some of the costs out.

They’re two of the Galaxy’s Edge sarlacc, but one is filled with sand to make the entire thing more proportional.

Here’s an update: hit a temporary delay in that I was laid off recently. So I suddenly (and finally) have the time to work on this and now don’t have the income to sustain doing anything. Classic.

Here’s where we are at. Essentially, sitting at about 50% done. I’m honestly not happy with it either. I don’t know what I expected. It’s not “in-universe” enough for me. I have no idea what to do now.

Things that I still plan to do imminently:
Hang the mechanical room doors.
Hang the imperial wall panels.
Hang the black metal peg board for lightsaber hilts.
Put shelves above the bar for other glasses, etc.

Longer term things:
Replace the fan.
Have someone rewire the light switches to rockers.

Not sure what else to do on a tight budget now. I thought about making panels for some of the walls and both the doors to make it look more in-universe, but not sure if it’s even worth it at this point.

Thank you!

Yes, they were in every other picture I took. I had to specifically chose shots that they weren’t in! They also roll their toys under the shelves and bar and can’t reach them. Then they just look at me until I help out.

Sorry to hear about your job, have you thought about putting some grey on the walls..maybe not the whole room oh and some cheap LED strips or convert an egg slicer for wall lights as in Andor.
At some point I want to duplicate my Falcon light/angled light head.
It's looking Great so far and much better than my cellar which if you think Evil Dead hits the nail on the head.

Thanks! Yes, in hindsight, I wish I would have painted the upper walls walls (and even ceiling) grey.

A small update…I did build this long stand, which I lit with LED’s.

And then hung my bar area stuff as well. I still have some art to hang in that area, so it will hopefully look more complete soon.

Sorry to hear you lost your job. That always sucks. Hope you find something even better, and can get back to this awesome project!! It's looking great by the way. Love the baby sarlac in the terrarium!!

Thanks guys! I feel better after getting the bar stuff up, and committing to “compartmentalization” of the 1:1 scale stuff to one side of the room, while the toy collection goes to the other side. With that being said…

Tell your kids not to ever buy this many stormtroopers. Talk to your children about army building early. Don’t let them do it. Tell them drugs are cheaper!
