wow.... puts my build to shame 12382! Nice work... i havent dont anything to the foam yet - not sure I can get plasti dip here in Australia? Anyone know???

hey bro.... you can get plastidip from some bunnings and masters stores... I found masters were cheaper and sometimes bunnings don't stock it, you may have to try a few stores.

So I'm making the foam Loki Helmet. It's together fine but what should I coat it with so it can smoothed and I can cut in line detail?

um? that's been up for 16 hours? how the hell did you do that!?!?!
He sent it to me a couple hours earlier....You can say I help verify some of his unfolds. Just make sure you check the model since some of the pieces are overlays. I would leave out the smallest piece for the eye too.

Cheers!

The eye section was tight... you can see the slop on the right side of the first picture. I use some tweezers to clean up the glue mess when I have run overs after I primer.

Hope this helps ya. :thumbsup

Iron Man Extremis v2 - foam unfold JFcustom.rar

You can consider it as the extention of the multi-hero cowl shared earlier. This suit is very permissive and it only needs your imagination to be tuned into almost whatever you want.
Have a look at Durkness's thread -> here <-

Nothing to do with it, but I'd like to add a spoiler :

To answer everyone at once, here is the difference between the two versions of Iron Man Extremis that you can find on this topic :

IM Extremis v1
IMextremisv1.jpg
IMextremisv2.jpg
IM Extremis v2

Here, v1 and v2 doesn't mean one is the improvement of the other. They both come from two different Marvel videogames.

Hi JF, really loving your work!
I'm having trouble finding suitable foam for my 1st project
My local craft shop has lots of coloured foam, but its only 2mm thick and A4 szied.
I have found online suppliers of larger sheets, but it seems to only come as black or grey and i'm not sure if its the correct foam, which is EVA i beleave?
Is depron foam suitable?
Or how about this?
FULL SIZE SHEET ( 94" x 80" ) IN VARIOUS THICKNESS'S | Ace Foam
I'm based in the UK so really need a UK supplier
Many Thanks

Asda sells this camping mat which according to the description is made out of EVA foam and is 6mm I believe. I bought it last weekend but have not yet used it. I was awaiting the rest of my supplies to start my first project. I should be able try tonight.

I know a lot of you guys are using plasti dip or some similar product to coat your foam pieces, and it looks great. But the armor my brother and I will be building needs to be hard and not flexible. Will coating the finished armor pieces in resin or a rondo mix be possible or recommended?
