Jason's (Unfated) Han in Carbonite build.

Panel looks great ! what did you use for the dot pattern ?
I could not find the mesh and i did not pay extra to get the light up LEDs from Fettronics. So I decided to be a little lazy.
I found the pic of the proper mesh online, loaded it into Adobe illustrator and added the yellow squares to simulate the
LEDs. Then I printed it on photo paper, clear coated it, and glued it down.

I’m not a electronics guru by any means but I was able to wire up the alternating LEDs myself. In general I tried to tackle as much as the HIC as I could (big thanks to QWolf and BigTurc for all the guidance).

Let me know if you are ever feel like tackling it. I can give you some pics, wiring diagram, etc.

Thank you. When everything is done I might decide to upgrade it, but for now this will do.

Just finished editing the box cut outs in Adobe Illustrator to fit Flimsy's 3D files. Now to get the box cut on
a CNC router.

Unfated I'm just starting my build as well ! I recently got my Han ( ebay not a great cast, but it was cheap & I can clean it up) I am also planning on 3d printing my volvo panels & greebles. I'm gonna have my box CNCd in the next few days based on the plans that have been floating around here ( and the .dxf file thats posted on the HIC yahoo site) - your 3d prints look nice! are you hand sanding ?
Who did you get your cast from?

Unfated glad you’re happy with the cast! I have an original Volvo panel that I made a mold from, wish I’d have known you needed it.
I started 3D printing before I really thought it out. I did not realize I'd have so much trouble finding someone to cut
the box. I have the files but they don't open the same in every program. If i was not almost finished with these
panels I'd just buy a set and get Zenix's box, but I'm only one panel away from finishing these. Good news
is they cost me very little, maybe $60 for all eight printed.

Yeah, I’ve heard about his work. Not bad but takes some time to get up to par.
Post pics of your build! I made a mold of an original Volvo if you’re interested in a set of blank casts. Don’t have the greeblies yet but I’ll print those to cast eventually.

You can’t beat $60. I’ve made several boxes and I’ve never CNC’ed it. You gotta use a tablesaw, jigsaw and sand it like God intended. Lol

Your panels look really really good.

Do you have any photos with the cast Volvo panel next to a 3d printed panel? I'm curious to see how different they look side by side.

They are not quite as nice as I'd like, but they will work. They cost me about a quarter of what a cast set would have cost.
I ended up buying the aluminum u-clips from Zenix and I'm happy I did. I'm still having trouble getting the box CNC routed, so
next I'll be working on my Han cast. He needs some clean up and filling.
