NICE! Sam Mendes is directing! I hope this bodes well for the editing, too. QoS had potential, but was so confusingly edited.

Wow. That sounds like a TERRIFIC cast. Good to see the Casino Royale editor is back, too. I haven't seen either Jarhead or Revolutionary Road, but I've enjoyed what Sam Mendes films I've seen. Alexander Witt's IMDB page lists a TON of second-unit director gigs on action films, including Casino Royale (which, I thought, was a fantastic film).

All in all, it sound like this one has a lot of potential off the bat. Here's hoping it matches and exceeds that potential!

I despised American Beauty, but loved Road to Perdition and Away We Go. All in all, I'm interested to see where he takes Bond. I'm glad to see them making another one.

Is Jeffrey Wright going to be Felix Lighter? I would rather not have Felix in this one than a new actor. I hate that. I wish Ed Norton was in the Avengers.

Would be cool if they could go back and into the end credits in the movies that don't have it, the line "James Bond will return in ______"

I wonder if the character of Q is back for this installment, and if so, who's playing him.

I heard a rumor- so take it with a grain of salt- that they approached Rowan Atkinson. He's been in a Bond film before-- and you know, if he played it STRAIGHT (ie, not like Mr Bean) then I could actually see it working

I've never watched or listened to a movie announcement press conference before. It's kind of strange to even have one with all the unanswered questions. I'm all for secrecy too. I just wonder what direction they are taking with this next Bond film. The Quantum organization was setup like a SPECTRE type group. As this next movie is a stand alone entry but with two strong actors as potential bad guys. One would think that they should be part of Quantum. Or will they destroy Quantum in the opening scenes? I hope that Ralph Fiennes isn't wasted in this movie. A real bad guy has been missing from the Bond series for a while now.

Alright! Big fan of 007 since I was kid. Started off when my parents took me to see [Sir] Roger Moore. Many thanks for sharing.

I'm hoping we get the initial gun barrel sequence this go round....

I'm also hoping this will finally trigger the release of the rest of the blu rays
