It's SHOWTIME! . . . Vera.

Thanks Wes, I will keep that in mind!

Dcarty, I will be doing higher res beauty shots in time. They did a good job painting these up. I wish I had one with the rounds in the magazine painted, like Birdie scored off ebay. But the cast is so clean in some places you can see the machining striations on the custom add ons. On others the details are covered with glue. :)

It actually might be better to break the piece down and cast the pieces separately, they will be easier to cast and pour and you can sell the showtime version, or the firefly version, static closed position ones and open one's. If you would like send her on over to me, i'll cast it and send you molds :) and like Wes im more than happy to pitch in on silicone costs!

Yeah, I've been putting a lot of thought into this. For Vera, cast the receiver, clip, and rather than cast the whole barrel, the small part that hinges at the barrel. That way, people can hollow it out and make their own barrel out of pipe, plus, it will cut down on shipping cost due to size. The stock really makes no sense to cast to me. I could fabricate my own from sintra. The only real unknown to me is the muzzle.

Yes, this being a stunt casting of Vera's base gun was a motivating factor in the purchase, but I really do like the way it looked in Showtime too. It was so out of place and odd looking in that movie, but fits right into Firefly. I don't think it has appeared in any other films or TV shows though.

It's quite a build to turn a Showtime gun into Vera...even with the 'open' version I scored from Ebay.

I scratchbuilt shell-holder and shells in the stock and some mods to the scopes (you can't get a replica of the correct main scope, and the closest airsoft one is pricey) and had a 3-D model made and printed for the flash hider. I now have a cast of one of the screen-used flash-hiders, but haven't got around to installing it yet.

Awesome gun, good luck with any future build-up :thumbsup
