is this a recast??

came across these pics on a 501st board of a member selling it. Its a silicone Palpatine mask, but it looks like a resin bust ive seen before, particualy the "spine" on the back of the head, and the fact that you have to cut out the mouth and eyes. maybe im just imagining it but i just feel like this is as recast. (is it the JRX?)

After flipping back and forth I can say in my mind it's is indeed this bust. Bad deal.

Especially if it is indeed a recast.

no way is that supposed to be a mask, it looks like a brush in and without the eyes and mouth sculpted specifically for the purpose of being a mask, i very much doubt it would fit.

if he is getting 850 for that, i might have to sculpt a silicone mask version myself.lol

yeah i has a video of him wearing it and it looks horrid. besides a silicone mask isn't suppose to have a slit in the back, they simply stretch over your head.

It is a recast of Jesper's bust.

You can see in the video where he has casved off the cloak clasp in the front because it is flat with no detail. Also the curve just past the collar bone once he takes it off.

I have alerted the Sith Lord Detachment Leader. The 501st as an organization can't do a lot about the recasting thing, but at least I want it known this guy is a re-caster and shouldn't be dealt with.

Pretty clear here that his mold has broken out around the
nostrils which is a really typical undercut that an inexperienced caster would have trouble with.

Yep! A lot of my first tries at masks and lifecasts had that "Snot Drip" from not watching what I was doing

I'm with Fettster on tis one looks bloody awful. no way would that fit properly , one eye droops lower than the other and why the neck split... this is silicon not latex. ive made a lot of silicone masks as Rich has too and i would never sell one unfinished for that price. looks like a brush in not injected and all in all terrible.

Also looks like the mold shifted while setting. The Right eye is a bit raised. Looks like when a Lifecast goes wrong.

yeah just noticed that too...it could have just marked it sold because he was found out....but if im going to spend that much, i'll just pay an extra 200 more and get Andrea's silicone Sidious.

No, it did actually sell to someone. He's pretty upset by it all. He's just e-mailed me as I had a silicone Palpatine mask project going on now for over a year. I hope he can get his money back. Kind of sad.
