Hey guys,

I was wondering if anyone here had a tip for removing a bit of solder off of a brass comm lid that I have. Just a small amount.

Any tips?

Do you have a de-soldering iron ?

It's a soldering iron with a bulb you squeeze, touch the tip to the solder, and when it heats up and liquefies you release the bulb and it 'sucks' the solder into the bulb.

You can get then just about anywhere soldering irons are sold.

I usually just file it off then sand it with about 220 grit and then hit it with 0000 steel wool.

Feek's method is the only way to get ALL of the solder residue off. Wick or suckers will only remove the "fluid" solder from the surface. There will still be a coating that will need to be filed/sanded off.
