I myself have been inspired by Ramiel's fantastic work, so here's the beginnings of a little side project for me;

I'm planning on making it out of polycarbonate for a "crystal blade" look.

Ok, this thread is not dead yet, so...
I've looked at the previous pages and I've found something nice made by Coz, and I've take the liberty to do an Illustration version of one of the most appreciated works he posted here earlier... The "Hub Gun" (I hope you don't mind Coz )
This is the low-res version, but let me know what you think anyway...

And this was my idea...
A translucent resin for the blade (maybe sanded/frosted on the blades and clear on the engravings, painted dark metal on the flat surface of the blade) with bright amber/orange LEDs inside it with a battery and switch compartment in the handle, so it could look like the one in the videogame...

This could be done for a "limited edition"... Maybe?

Love the lightsaber hilts, Ramiel and FB. Very unique. I'd say they would cost a pretty penny to make, though.

This is the first draft sculpt based on the guard for the sword (axe?) designed by Ramiel.

As I said before I think to split it in two halves so it may be adapted with different blades.

For the blade I like your idea but I think it would be better to make it in a solid acrilic wide sheet and laser cut the desing. The orange lights will be in the handle. When you bright the solid transluscent acrilic from one side, the light comes from where it is carved.
It is the same technique used in lots of "EXIT" signs.
I hope you understand my idea.

1) In your first post press the EDIT boton.
