Iron Man props (helmet - reactor - armor)

Re: Iron Man Helmet Sintra V2.0 (V 1.0 lays in ruins)

AH AH HAHAHAHA, Right Fett, took me quite a bit...I actually stopped working on it time ago, then I heard an italian guy was making an IM armor with Papekura and my competitive spirit just couldn't take it :D

So i started working on it again :D
Hope to complete it before vacations are over (that would be 10th of jan for me) ;)

Great looking helmet! Ive been watching for a while. Did you at one time post the template you used on post #57?
If so could you point me to it?
Keep up the great work.

Re: Iron Man Helmet Sintra V2.0 (V 1.0 lays in ruins)

Sorry for late response.

Rick: Yes, this is the general idea to make a run and try to place some here in Italy.

For all of you: Thanks :cry
Your comments truly mean a lot to me.

I re-did the lines on the back and on one of the sides.
This time it worked. I had to carve a 1/2 cm deep and 1/2 inch wide "furrow" in the helmet (yes, the one i just took shots of...). Then I put the bondo back in the furrow so that the engraved line would not chip or whatever it does AGAIN. As I said, it worked. It's not completely smooth, but I'm fed up with it. So it's ok!

So that leaves it to:
screws in the holes
fill the little holes with putty
"close" the chick area
make the under-chin section (but I already tried it with paper and it won't take me long)

I want to make the first cast in order to give it as a present to a lady's birthday that occurs on the 4th of Feb. That said, I hope to finish everything before that date!

Re: Iron Man Helmet Sintra V2.0 (V 1.0 lays in ruins)

Very Nice! This came out excellently. Bet ya its super light weight too.

That would be next year, of my NEXT life :D
ehehhehehe, I'd like to, but I figure I should move on to modelling. This method is good for details and all, but it TAKES for ever! And if you mess up. You can actually shoot yourself.

Also, since I'm 6.0, 167 pounds, If I ever come up with an armor kit it would be just as big as the original one. ;)

Right now yes. It's light! But light means fragile too.
If this thing ever gets heat, it'll bend and warp. Forex does not take hits well either. And if anything with an edge get on it, it'll leave a dent in the surface. Right now it's sitting in my bathtub :D

So I have to mold it, cast it and put the master in some kind of air-sucked, locked, Sterilized environment...much like the "INTEL" processors labs hahahahahah :D (cool, I laugh at my own jokes...)

Re: Iron Man Helmet Sintra V2.0 (V 1.0 lays in ruins)

finally!! nicely done!! this has bin one interesting build!! if you consider doing a run, i would be very much interested!!(y)thumbsup

Re: Iron Man Helmet Sintra V2.0 (V 1.0 lays in ruins)

I like a lot your helmet, it´s shape and clean work!!!

Are you going to automatize it? or add leds to the eyes keeping wearable?

Re: Iron Man Helmet Sintra V2.0 (V 1.0 lays in ruins)

Well, since I've contracted the "BEST IT CAN BE" virus, I'll try everything I can on the helmet :D ehheheh

First I have to cast a copy, then I'll be able to try as many things as I can.
The helmet is not really wide and has not much space inside. So i don't know if I can fit any kind of servo or stuff like that inside it.

It's gonna have eyes lit for sure and I'm gonna do it as accurate as I can. Instead of illuminating the entire socket, I'm gonna light only the narrower rectangle inside it. I don't know if you're gonna be able to see through it...but I was thinking about a really SICK idea.

Virtual googles inside the helmet linked to a spycamera put inside the vent...that would be AWESOME!!! But the google cost A LOT and I wouldn't know if this thing could ever work of fit in there...just a crazy idea right now :D

I tried to write about your request, but I found out it's against RPF rules to create interest around and object in a section other than "the Junkyard".
If I ever do make a run, I'll post the details in the junkyard or you can always contact me via PM ;)

For what concerns the suit...if I'm planning to do it using the same "sintra"method...I'd better learn how to play the flute with my feet...that would be easier, and likely to happen way before I finish the suit using that method :D

I'll probably try to move on to modelling clay or using some other method ;)

Got the eyes glues behind the sockets. So right now just looks like the Sideshow bust.
Also glued on the under-chin section. Tried the helmet on and had no problem at all.
So I'll put bodyfiller on to even the surfaces and I'll move on.

Next it'll be screws and closing the cheeks. After that it should be over...
the magic day gets closer...:love
