Re: Iron Man Helmet Sintra V2.0 (V 1.0 lays in ruins)
Ok, quickly.
The pictures of the helmet painted are pics of the first CAST.
The mold was really bad. The cast is full of bumps and chips. That's because I used the wrong rubber and I was way to fast making the mold. I'd better wait more and do things properly. But I had Feb 4th as deadline. I kept all this hidden to a really close friend of mine and finally I presented it to her last night.
I put the helmet, light on, in a cardboard box full of polystyren chips.
I made her open the box in the dark. So as soon as she tore off the tape and lift the limbs, she was the light shining through all the chips...she could see only chips and light...not the helmet the layed underneath. It was like opening a treasure box...it was AWESOME!
When she realized, she looked at me: "You HAVE FINISHED IT!??!?!?!?" ehhehehe, she still doesn't believe it's done
Anyways, as you saw, I put the master on a maniquine's head and I locked it on some "plastilina". That way, the new mold should come out way better. Also the VR armor will be tougher and will hold much better.
The cast will be made in Urethane resin since I'm done working and breathing all the gelcoat and resin crap...can't stand it no more...
I'll post the pics of the new mold
Thanks for the support!
