Just a question, are you able to sit down in the suit without damaging it? As in sitting in the car to get where you're going or do you have to get changed there?

No, there is no sitting down at all. You need to suit up where you are doing the costuming, stand in the back of a truck or something.

In a foam suit, it is likely possible to sit down, but I would never suggest driving in one. movement is limited enough without driving and endangering peoples lives along the way.

Are there any more updated for this thread? I would've really liked to get more details on the hands/fingers

Hi, nope no updates from me.

I sold the suit unfortunately. I got into a tight situation financially and couldn't keep it. It was either that or my Harley and the Harley won, I'm very ok with that!

The gloves that came with the suit were really nice but too small for my hands so I ended up buying a set from darkside501st in his thread and painting them up.

Were they much bigger?

Having all manner of issues with the gloves on mine

The Darkside gloves are bigger and fit a larger sized hand. I wear a size 11 glove, and his mainbody were a little on the tight side, but still fit, and the fingers were perfect.

I think the ones that came with the suit would fit a size 9/10 glove size at the most.

Good to know :)

How did the neck piece fit you? ( my neck size is 18 1/2) That's one of the things that was to small for me on the MKIII from Masked Rider, I should have waited for this suit :)

I have almost a 16in neck, and a long one, being so tall the neckseal fit me great and easily fully closed. I wasn't doing any neck bending though! The neck would be too small for you at 18.5 and will not fully close without some modification or extension (shimming) to the rear.

Reading you build. Seem like alot of work to get this ready. I'm assume this will be alot hard to build then a Stormtrooper armor. Just wondering if I can fit into this I'm 5'8, can I adjust this to look good for me and how easy is it to trim Fiberglass compared to ABS?

You don't have to do these things, I did them because of the size of my legs/knees/thighs. What I did doesn't mean you will have to do.

I would say that it will 100% not fit you though. You should ask Leslee about his MK3 armor, it is made for a person in your size range.

Fiberglass needs cutting wheels on grinders and dremels. ABS you can simply cut with a blade of scissors.

Thanks for the info. Will contact Leslee regarding mk3

I'm very new to the forum and the costume building scene, in fact this is my first post, and it really is to find out something very important.

How do you go to the toilet once strapped in? From the pieces in the pic, it looks as though you need to take off the legs to get the ab/cod piece off. Is that right?
:)

It's a pity you had to sell the suit, it looked amazing!
Thanks for sharing the pics and the advice, apologies for reopening an oldish thread

Simple answer.....you can't.

The cod piece is one of the first things that you put on, so to go to the toilet, you pretty much have to take the whole suit off.

Funkster is right.

For me it seemed a big questions when I started costuming as well.

But I found that unless you have a medical problem is a really weak bladder (and drink a lot before getting into costume) it's no big deal.

Go to the toilet before you suit up, and you're good for 3-5 hours, depending. Even through this, make sure to drink a little bit every so often to stay hydrated.

Not sure about DDay, but I'm limited to about 2 hours in my War Machine anyway.

That's due to the weight, heat, general uncomfortableness.

Then I need about a 30-45 minute break to recover

Yeah i had an event at a comic book store with my Mk 4 and i early passed out after a little over two hours, i figure i could go longer if the weather was cooler but it seems that the general limit for these suits

I didn't realise they took such a toll when wearing them but it makes sense . I figured it might be a good place to put a servo and hinge to good use, not just on the helmet visor :D

thanks for the replies !
