I am thinking the ears might be off. Does anyone have any good reference of the ears?
I think the slot might not be as deep and tapered on the outer edge.

I tried printing the unibeam but it wouldnt load for some reason.
Told me it wasn't a valid file.
Could you re export it or upload the max file please?
Thanks man your files are awesome

It came out pretty good for me:

Here it is with all of the support material washed off:

And fitted to my chest prototype:

I'm looking to mold it so I can cast the whole thing in clear resin, so I gave it a quick gloss coat to make it a tiny bit smoother:

There's a couple of things I'd change though now that I'm looking at it. Ken, if you're up for tweaking the model a bit, can I give you some fixes I'd like? If not, I'll try my hand at making the changes myself. In any case, thank you for posting and sharing your work. That Unibeam model is just the thing I needed right when I needed it. You rock.

Hey Ken, this is some great work! I especially like the unibeam. =D
On your arc reactor, did you design the light ring with holes for leds to be fitted? It's really handy when assembling later. Also do you have a piece that goes in the center that you can add leds to? I didn't notice one in your pics.
Check out my 3d printed arc thread. http://www.therpf.com/f24/helagaks-3d-printed-mark-1arc-reactor-182616/
I got the original model off either thingiverse or grabcad. I had to make a ton of changes to make it print friendly.
Anyways, great job on the models! Can't wait to see what else you make!

No, I did not add any groove or recessed area behind the clear ring. I can certainly do that if you let me know where they go. Also, as for the screen, I did not model that because to me it looks like a screen from a sink or something... same with the coil wires and solder joints.

Thanks for the comments!

BTW: The Unibeam was just updated. This version has been slightly modified and disassembled.
Thanks thorssoli!

New Unibeam Available:
(see updated earlier post for file and description)

Sorry for the many updates on models, but as I find better reference I can't stand having an inaccurate model out there. I have recently run in to some VERY good reference, so I can assure fewer version updates.
