Re: Iron Man 3 : Iron Man mk42 v2.0[Updated 3/24]

Got some things goin' on today.
I finally decided to have the flaps motorized. Yep. I looked at the recently released trailer and the mk42 has their flaps open during the scene with the crew of air force one. Also painted the helmet. No buffing applied yet. I'm pretty sure it'll turn out well.

Here's a screenshot of the flaps in action. I think I got the cut right.

And the helmet all painted up. Some detailing, inking and buffing needed.

Thanks for them kind words :angel.
Yes I used 425.00 for the legs, including the shoes. Used gaiatron's unfolds. Hope that helps.

Thanks pare! I'm proud to say your unfolds are truly remarkable. I look forward to using your unfolds on my future projects pare! :thumbsup

Thanks man! I know right. It's like we're motivating each other. But you beat me to it. Yours is totally freehand! And way accurate-r than my freehand version! :thumbsup This one is pep-based. :facepalm

Anyway sorry for the lack of updates. I took a 4 day vacation as it was a week long holiday here in the Phils. Got my back fully rejuvenated and me working back on track.

First of all I'd like to thank aksarben911 who invented the knee hinges I read sometime ago in Jackie's thread. Great idea indeed. I took it and tinkered with it a little, and it came out nice. I'll be applying the same method for the 3 suits.

I'll take more photos in the morning. It's quite dark here. And the flash on my phone won't suffice. :facepalm

Thanks for checking!

Re: Iron Man 3 : Iron Man mk42 v2.0[Updated 4/1]

lookin good.

Thanks man.

Now I can say I'm officially done with mine. Finally.

Off to seal, prime and bondo imperfections tomorrow! Then paint, wax and wait for the movie! :cool

I would like to thank Gaiatron for his remarkable unfolds,IMIM2 for the modified files modeled by Helagak, and of course, jackieisrockin for his mk42 files! Gimpee for the helmet file. Tony Stark III and STEALTH for their never ending support. BlackDynamo for making his version awesome, keeping me motivated. :) Time to get these babies out.

I used Tony Stark III's chest and back for these shots. I'll be making his set of abs/cod a little big bigger. [I have a size 29 waistline. IKR :lol]

Thanks man! Well regarding the time, it usually takes me a month or 2, with the sealing and painting process and all. This one took a little bit longer, since my suit was the draft or trial and error suit/basis for the rest of the 3 42's. Scaling and the joints, researching and getting the hang of the pattern in pep, manual adjusting, etc. So after the 1st suit, the rest usually gets done in a month or 2, with all the process in between.

Meanwhile, here's a teaser of what's comin'. I haven't added the chrome panels yet so it's still showing those silver undercolors for now.
