Re: Iron Man 3 : Iron Man mk47/42 v2.0[Updated 2/15] Vids are up!

sweet dreams master

Thanks! :love I got some good sleep btw. :thumbsup

... Makes me jealous :D

Well don't be. THe model you're making is superb. :cool A little patience always paid off. :thumbsup

well, I just got my epoxy primer today. Gonna give it a shot this weekend. Any last minute advice ? I'm making grooves and details in the pieces, but I'm worried they'll be erased by the epoxy coating...

That's great! Lemme know about the results. Don't worry about the grooves. As long as you ran through it with 5-6 times with a sharp pointed pen it'll not be erased. After 2-3 coats just run through it again with a pen to be sure. Make sure it is dry though before you do that. I usually coat it twice, let it dry overnight, then sand it the other day, then coat twice again, then sand then a thin coat then sand then top coat. I know it takes a lot of patience but trust me. The outcome will be top notch. :thumbsup

I'll be uploading my coating method around monday morning. So hopefully that can help you guys.

Thanks! Yeah I noticed that. Is that finhead/biggeek's? I was hoping I could get one from them. Well I'm not taking any orders as of now. I'm making three identical suits. That way, they get finished altogether. I'll be selling the other two and the other one is for me. If we have the same specs [I mean measurements] maybe you could wait for the two to get finished and you know what's next. :love

Thanks! Epoxy primer, the 2 part one. Spread it inside as well and put fiberglass in it. It'll work. :thumbsup

Sorry for the long wait guys. But now that the IP suits I've been making is over, but not done with, I can now focus on these beauties. :love

One of the suits' going to be on Tony Stark III's hands (or should I say body :lol) and the other one still doesn't have an owner. Oh well. Anyway, time for some update. I'm done detailing the back. Should be done with the other details tonight, then moving on to the legs tomorrow. I'll be using jackie's files unfolded by gaiatron for them parts.

Please read the entire thread. I even posted a few videos for some tutorial. Thanks.

I use the one that can be sprayed through an air compressor by mixing thinner with it.

Inspiring work, can't wait to see the final version.

Thanks! :thumbsup

Update. Finally done with the chest and back. Killer details, backache and eyesore. But the results are worth it. I hope I get to keep the details once the coating is done. :cry

I like how you do the pen lines. Such a simple idea, that add that detail.

Thanks! Yes it's a lot easier and safer to compared to a hot soldering iron. :love

Updates.
Done with the first pair of shins.
Will do the other 2 pairs tomorrow. Just finished cutting them a while ago. Then the details. I'm very much paying attention to details nowadays. I dunno why. :facepalm Still need to go to work.

I used jackie's shin file for these. Had to resize it as the first attempt went smaller that what I assumed.

You know i've been a fan of yours for a short while now. I think it's how you work the foam. Your approach to the build, your perception on how to attack the piece without losing anything. Subscribed-nice work man...GM

Thanks man! Appreciate it.

Sorry for the lack of updates folks. Work caught up on me. Been real busy with it. And then today it hit me with the trailer. Got me psyched up again for these bad boys to get done. Here's me with my new helmet. Am nearly done with the legs but haven't taken shots of it yet.
