Found some time to correct my helmet. Doesn't feel and look right to me with that effin' faceplate.
So what to do? Create a new one.

Been held back as a friend of mine asked me to create a helmet for his suit. Couldn't resist. :facepalm

Update time.

Coated the upper torso, 3 coats each. Will bondo the imperfections and obvious pinholes, sand then primer again. Hopefully all goes well. I plan on slicing the backflaps to have them motorized once I apply fiberglass reinforcement on the insides.

Hope you like 'em.

As you can see, the details have been retained, and they pop!

Helmet nearly done. It's even on the sides, just not on the pic. :facepalm

And on a side note, I'm done with the thighs. Detailing killed most of my time. :cry

I've been experimenting with paint colors as well. Unfortunately I'm still not contented with the outcome. :cry

Minor update.

Was excited to check the colors if they work out. Both pieces have been coated once. Needs more sanding though. And some more trimming on the FG reinforcement I made :facepalm

Gonna sand them a little more then top it with the clear. Should work. Hopefully. :cool

Done buffing the helmet. 1 coat of clear applied.
Turned out great. Also added some shadows and details.

Yes. I'm using jackie's files for this build. And some modifications once on paper,rubber or sintra.

Got some minor setbacks to this build and some minor delays. Got the finished parts sealed up ready for painting. Will fiberglass the inside tomorrow to make them more rigid and durable. Pics of that to follow.

On the other hand, the 2nd helmet did not meet my standards. I'm quite a picky fella, and I know some people here already know that :lol. So what to do? I made the 2nd version for the iron man mk3/4/6 helmet and a 3rd version for my own helmet. And it turned out way better than what the previous ones did. I spent time checking the statue pics for accuracy, and keeping in mind the criticisms I received from the first ones I did. If not for them I couldn't have improved this much. So I thank you guys. :thumbsup

The mk8 helmet is made using sintra and rubber, together with gimpee's mk8 file.
The classic iron man helmet is made using zabana's, unfolded by gaiatron for foam. I had to mod some parts but turned purrty awesome. :thumbsup

Will be separating the knee cap later on. I attached it temporarily to retain its shape.

I never liked the hulkbuster..... I loved it. :love But will definitely build the heartbreaker or godkiller after this

As for updates, here you go. I got the right scale of the arms this time, took me twice to get them right. Again, same scale will be used for Tony Stark III's armor. :thumbsup They will be finished at the same time.

I notciced the helmet has a little nose bump as well on the faceplate, so I gave mine a nosejob.
Here you can see it's quite flat

And here it has the roundedness added to it.

It will be more obvious once I lay down the primer, which will happen tomorrow morning. So Yey me! :cool

Here are the armor parts so far.

Details will pop once I lay down the sealant and primer. Am using the neck and shoes of my IP temporarily in the pics. Sorry for that.

As far as the build goes, spent my 2 days off of work again on this build. I hate seeing the calendar while building. Gives me pressure. :wacko

I tried experimenting with colors again. This time I got it right.

Purty nice. Then I forgot all the lines. :facepalm Oh well..

Completed left boot. No details yet.
