Iron Man MK 4 build

Re: Ikras' 2015 Halloween Costume Contest Entry: Iron Man MK 4 build

GOOD LUCK!

I've got one more question for you - what hand files did you use? The "Iron Man/War Machine EASY hand files" (http://www.therpf.com/showthread.php?t=150409) I used for my casual Iron Man 3 Tony Stark for Halloween (https://www.facebook.com/HaywireVisions/photos/pcb.1064355253608815/1064354733608867/?type=3&theater pic courtesy of Haywire Visions, if you're interested) was a little snug once I'd got the repulsor light, wiring, elastic for the fingers and a slim glove all in there... yours seem better sized for your hand. Did you use similar files and resize? When I'd mocked it up originally, I'd thought it was definitely big enough, then couldn't get the velcro completely closed when it came to wearing it.:unsure

Thanks very much. See how things go but it's good fun seeing all the different entries anyway.

I think it was the easy ones that I used as well. They were pretty tight though. I had no glove and just lined the front of the finger gaps with some material. The full wiring wasn't in there either so that would have had an effect I think.

I definitely found that the Velcro didn't sit as snugly as I would have liked but it doesn't show up really. Not sure if it just means I've got a smaller hand but they do definitely require a certain amount of tugging to get them on.

I just used the files as they were so I'm not sure if that's any help to you. Sorry.

Took my Iron friend for an outing the other weekend for Capital Sci Fi Con in Edinburgh. Was there on Saturday and Sunday and had a great time. Sunday was Iron man day (Saturday I went as part of an X-men group made up of my wife and some of our friends, full details to follow in a new thread). Didn't really make any alterations since September except for a few repairs and an upgrade of the strapping system I had going. This time it stayed in place without pin assistance.

Also in cosplay on the Sunday was my friend Gamesteroftriskelion Cosplay who came in an original creation of hers, a steampunk Star Trek uniform.

Managed to get some Civil War shots which came out quite well I think. Some poses did highlight my lack of mobility somewhat though. Think I need to practice trying to make a fist but these angles do hide that somewhat.

Met some other armour builders (Beau Peep, one of the judges).

And was incredibly happy to have come first in the cosplay competition after cooking in the queue. There was a great range of costumes on show including a wee boy in a full BB-8 costume with blinking lights and a hat for the dome.

Iron man is still on the go and the next outing is planned for Edinburgh Comic Con on the 3rd of April. Please come say hello if you see me.
