Re: Iron-Man MK17 "HEARTBREAKER" [SUIT DONE-SHORT VIDEO ON LAST POST]

Suit-up video. In daylight. So far so good. I just need to revise the gloves.

Here's some full suit pictures.

It turned out pro ;) Your legs look super sharp!

Looks awesome. Cant wait to see what it looks like with lights

Awesome, man! I love the mobility!

That looks great. The mobility on that thing is awesome, the parts interact without looking cheesy :thumbsup

Thanks guys! Appreciate all those comments :)

oh man u always have such nice suits! i really like the knee covers and how they have the special extension so they are still covered even when u open them. also idk if i have asked b4 but do u cover ur foam in something b4 painting or go straight to painting?

about your question though, what do you mean cover my foam? the sealing method or the masking method prior to painting the sealed suit? kinda confused on your question

I myself was curious how you were doing your masking... I've been trying to get a better paint finish, wish I could paint the separate color sections and then assemble lol

I seal each parts with acrylic emulsion. :thumbsup

I tried to paint a piece before gluing when I built my Mark 42 months ago, it worked but the glue I'm using ruined the paint. :facepalm I won't try it again.

About my masking technique. . .I start with painting my base coat which is silver. Then after the paint dries, I mask all the silver colored parts and proceed on painting the second least paint color, which is the gold, this is very crucial since the paint I'm using doesn't dry quick. That's why I let it dry for about 4 hours. To ensure that no paint will peel off when I peel off the masking tape on it. I don't peel off the masking tape/mask on the painted silver and gold parts yet, since I still need to paint the dominant color in the suit, which is the metallic red. After I painted the metallic red colors, I let it dry for about 30 minutes and then I start peeling the masking over the painted silver and gold parts. The result is the pictures above :)

I'm using this 3M blue painters tape when I had enough budget, and a local brand if I don't have money :lol

Re: Iron-Man MK17 "HEARTBREAKER" [SUIT UP VIDEO ON LAST POST]

Awesome, my procedure is almost identical. Thanks for explaining!

I know what you mean about the tape.... I use the 3m brand on all my stuff as well. I tried getting away with the cheap stuff, but had what you could call 'less than successful' results :lol

Re: Iron-Man MK17 "HEARTBREAKER" [SUIT UP VIDEO ON LAST POST]

:( I need to buy another. . .

Honestly. This is Awesome.... Yung vanquish ARS. Hinihintay ko pa yung update sa kay helagaks. Gusto ko sanang yung first na ironman build ko itong mk 17. pero walang pepakura pa sangayon. tsk tsk.

I use a 12-Led Head light as a base light for my reactor (yung nakikita sa divisoria) usually P100 each, I rewire them to be powered with a 9 volt battery, for the larger circle inside the Heartbreaker RT, I use 2 blue led strips, I forgot how many LEDs in it but I guess it's around 10 per strip.

Here's my Heartbreaker Suit at the moment while I'm planning how to build my Hall of Armor.

I removed the eye leds and rebuild the RT to fit a separate unibeam prop. I'll reinstall the lights once I start building my suits' respective halls.
