iron man mark vi build

So I was going over the parts I have left to pep and noticed that the gap between the chest and the neck seal has a part there with some bracket looking things converging above the arc reactor. I have robo3687's files and was wondering if anyone knew what that part was and why if it exists was not in my download. please help thank you

something like this?

I think some versions have it adden in the neck pep.. others expect you to make them from scratch

That was exactly what I was talking about. Thank you. Well alrighty then I guess I am going for the from scratch part then lol ... that is the mark four neck seal right?

Holy cow I have reached a momentous milestone here. Just now I finished the left boot and have completed every pep file from robos to build my iron man armor. the pep portion is now done and the hardening stage begins ... this has slowly been forming piece by piece but the wait is over and the weather is great so fiberglass here I come. I cant really describe how excited I am to have finished this stage of the build. Pictures to come and still got to make the duct tape dummy for the parts. Cant do that one on my own and finding time for my wife to help me is tricky. YEAH BUDDY!!!

Ok so I finally got some pics of the whole suit together and a few of the work in progress on the boots when i was making them. There is still some damage to parts of the armor from some disrespectful people. but nothing I should not be able to fix. so here are the pics ...

So I had about an hour free time before my daughters doctor appt. and decided to to adhere some cotton cloth to the chest and back pieces. either tomorrow or Wednesday I will spread the resin over them to harden them. The cloth wrinkled in some places and I overlapped it in others to give some strength. hopefully it works like I want it to. I also included a shot of the spray adhesive I used. You will notice a Popsicle stick and clip at the neck of the back plate. that is there to help keep it straight til I harden the parts.

Wow! You are brave LOL! I am starting on the feet and working my way up! Im planning on saving the helmet for last or I may buy one! :p The helmet has so many curves and its so...in your face!I really want to devote more energy to the armor and mechanizing as many really great! I am watching your thread eagerly as you are a little ahead of me, so maybe we can share some insight and ideas if you dont mind!

I don't mind at all. There are others here with way more talent and knowledge then me but I would be happy to share what I know and ideas I have as they come. Asa a matter of fact I will try to get some pics of the hinge system I am working on currently as soon as I can.

How many more years before you finish? JK Wassup Sab? I see you still at it...but i'm gonna tease you with this? Cause when you're done I'm gonna be a grandpa. " lol Looks good though Keep up the good work dude....Delray.

That's just mean delray, lol thanks for the twinkie on a string. your suit looks amazing. I just had to put the project on hold due to some hurdles in life but I still work on stuff mentally . I actually got the hinges for my faceplate cut out a while back and got the post screws from home depot that I am gonna use to connect them. I am even working on how to make the faceplate open with a wireless signal so I dont have to have cables or wires to worry about running through the neck. I have lots of notes and sketches stacked up over here and feel confident I finally got the kinks worked out. I went with plexiglass for the material to make the hinges out of. Now I am just perfecting the shape on them to make them more symmetrical and details like notching them to swivel the way I want them to. As far as the rest of the suit getting hardened and surfaced, I need to come up with some cash for the material. But i am still in the hunt for a finished product. It does feel like the real thing will exist before I finish though. (sigh!) Keep checking in!!!

electifleir, I would be more then happy to share with you trials and ideas as the projects unfold themselves. good luck on your suit

Ok so i know its been a while since i posted anything here however the progress i have made is slow but coming I have finally got the hinges redesigned didn't go with the plexi glass I spoke of earlier I ended up going with a plastic tote like a storage tote. Right now i am finishing the bondo portion to seal the faceplate tight against the helmet. I will get some pics up soon.
