iron man mark vi build

I was looking at some threadsa nd the cod piece was mentioned to be built fora 32 inch waist and I have a 36 inch waist so I may have to size it up justa little to get it to work but not enough taht the suit will look different afterward

Crap, well I've got major issues then, I have a 38 inch waist but will do about a 39-40 inch so I have space.

mykii you will need to size the whole suit up some anyway so as long as you do that your cod piece will not look out of place ... I am 5'9 and 160 lbs .. you build will have to be bigger then mine ... so i think no issues yet for you just some resizing questions may come along

use something easy like the forearm to get a feel for whether the build is sized right but you will want to increase it now as it is maybe I can build one resized and see what t eh difference will be

man I have tried for the last two days to upload pics and it keeps telling me taht there is a missing security issue ... i will try again later

WOW ... sorry for the delay in updates had alot going on all of the sudden the last few days ... anyway I took some pics of everything I have pepped so far and got a little bondo work done on my helmet ... although I have to figure out a way to straighten the piece that juts out over the forehead on the helmet cuz it is a little crooked ... also I just noticed I did not include the spine pieces in the pictures ... so I have uploaded all of the photos I have taken so far to photobucket.com ...Pictures by david_aguilar_sabertech - Photobucket
I will keep adding pics as I go to there and if it will let me I will try to load them here too!

Watch out for which files you use as I was using mostly Dancing Fools files with a few Dun0Beetle and Robo thrown in where it's needed and I didn't re-size the Dung0Beetle forearm file I got as the rest seems to fit fine however the file I had must have been re-sized by someone else (probably with arms like my legs) as it turned out TWICE the size it needed to be, seriously I only just got my hand through the wrist section and the missile pod was pressing into my bicep!

The first file I tried had the following measurements in Pep Designer...

H: 457
W: 175
D: 204
S: 52.781267

The final size for the fitting for my forearm ended up as this...

H: 350
W: 134
D: 156
S: 40.423290

So you see how much I had to change it despite the rest of the sizes being fine so far :cry for the record I'm 6'1" and weigh a meagre 189lb's (85.7kg) and I feel like I'm a stone overweight because of Steroid medication for my lungs.

true that ... I shoulda mentioned that you have to be proactive and check the consistency of the sizing for each file to make sure you are dealing with the same size every time. from what i can tell the robo files are good for that but if someone alters them you could run into that issue ... good heads up cyberpaddy

so I have a few shots of where i am currently at with the bondo stage on my helmet ... need to find some time to sit down and put ten hours into a sitting ... i have maybe four hours total into the bondo stage including spreading the bondo and letting it harden ... I have a few areas to still go over again do to being low but these are easy to correct ... also i am fooling around with some ideas to correct the brow being a little crooked ... i did a basic cut out of the eyes to see if I like this particular path or if i want to remove more, so far i am ok with it being this size of an eye hole .. but that may change when it's time to put the LED's in ...

This is looking fantastic so far Saber.
Just keep it up buddy. You are doing great, wish I was at that stage haha

lol ... whatever you are still farther on your helmet then i am ... lol ... but i am catching up bro ... thanks though

Sweet, I've yet to pump up the nerve to take a brush and PVA to mine... I'm trying to do it without having to buy stuff in and I have plenty of PVA here ;)

Thanks cyberpaddy ... I just threw some more bondo on the helmet and used a heat gun to try to fix the uneven forehead vent ... it worked and straightened it (thank you whoever posted the idea ... wish i could remember where I read that!) but it still does not have the strength i want so I am working up a wire frame for that part of the helmet to make it rigid ... so far so good ... it nthing fancy bot it will get the job done ... I keep looking at the groves in those eyes and tremble a little ... lol ... but the progress continues

I seen alot of progress pics in your photobucket album, Your'e doing fine. We all get frustrated alittle at times, I know I do! Lol. ****! ****! ****! We all deal with stuff that just pisses us off about what we're trying to acheive. Just keep it up it'll payoff. Keep Building!....

I actually have not gotten frustrated thankfully, challenges arise and I have fun tackling them. I was just talking to a machinist today to fiugre out cost of a possible run for hinges made of aluminum. Also got a 14 led flashlight for 5 dollars I gutted to make the arc reactor.

Cannot wait to get some spare money haha. You can't find time but I can't get money. :p
I'm definitely loving the build and IF I cannot find any money by the end of this month for it I may end up throwing in the towel for a few months :( (Not good)

You inspire me mate.
