iron man mark vi build

hello friends, can you help me find the files armor ironman mark 3 for pepakura? I would take the right shin and left leg, can you help?

just to keep this thread on point definitely each of us have to choose to change things but guys and girls like robo have given a great starting point ... so I tip my hat to you robo and all others who have spent a lot of time creating these files and letting us use them ... the credit is yours ... the changes and modifications are mine and it is my contribution to the mix ... I have been hitting the drawing board trying to figure out the mechanics of the face plate and a few other things ... when done i will share my info and process with you all ...

claudio - you can look at robo's threads and find the links to his files for the MIII armor cool

oh common, don't patronize me. i have said MANY times here that I appreciate robo's files and the fact that they are free and i did say that robo's files are the best mark 6 files around but that doesnt mean that they are exactly perfect. it never hurts to tell where improvements can be made, and if you are hostile towards advices than you will never improve.

The details that I have brought up will not be able to be done through bondo/sanding ect, thats whyi picked them out, there is no point saying "the helmet isnt smooth" because that can be doen through pep but i have picked things that is MY opinion have to be modified through pep and now physical work like bondo.

As for the wave-part. i have checked the ref pic many times and even though the pic is under an angle the Im is standing perfectly staright so therefore the wave-shape should still be there. Plus That part in pep cant shift and bend as you have suggested so it does matter whether ot os straight or wave-like because that is how it is going to be all the time.

I know he only wore an upper half of the suit but if robo created abs and wrists and hip pods ect. I dont see why it is a bad idea to improve those places.

By your message you just put me as a guy who doesnt like robo and his design, who is some nerd who sits in front of a pic and says "this is all wrong". And then you say how much you like robo by aking me look even worse. Thats not cool.

I can't believe after ROBO has offered all of his time and effort to give us a complete Iron Man suit that people like you still have the nerve to nitpick things.

The purpose of pep is to be a starting point. Details like you've brought to attention are to be done within the bondo/sanding/dremel stage.

The abs do not wave. They are straight but as they curve around your body they form this "WAVE" that you are seeing.

These files in my opinion are the best Mark 4/6 on the market. He has done alot for us.

And as he said before. A person would not be able to realistically move in the suit or even fit in proportionally if it were scaled/modelled just like the on screen suit. Hell RDJ only wore the upper half and the boots.

ROBO you are the man! We thank you for everything you've modelled and continue to model for me when I email. Cheers!

am in need of real help i have looked on the internet but i cant find the right file for the helmet to be used on the pepakura veiwer i really want to make it can anyone help me with where i can download it or if it can be sent to me please please please pm me

The helmet file is in ROBO's thread. I believe it is on the first page in the Replica Costume section.

Check the first page.

Cheers!

re: Graphic Jordan.

LOVE the foam armour.

I'm interested in how your abs and neck seal come out! When the time comes I'm hoping to find a flexible option for those areas.

alright so i completed the chest for the mark VI and and am working on fitting the back to it for a test fit

The fact that robo spent time to even put these files out is a blessing for every IM fan to have. If you want to perfect your suit check your skills as a you build it? Or Model it yourself! quit Hatin' homie! and modify where you need too. robo you are the man disregard ignorance. I have the files too! and appreciate every one of them.

All of the things you pointed out actually are EASILY fixed through bondo and shaping. Go look at some of the amazingly detailed pieces some guys in the Halo community have made starting with a low-detail model.

With Bondo, I could make Robo's files look like RoboCop, all it takes is a little effort.

Sure, it's nice to imagine we could all start with a "perfect" pep file, but due to the nature of the technique and the process used to create the initial files perfect isn't possible, but incredibly close is. What Robo has given us is incredibly close. If you want it perfect, you have to put the time in.

What is that black thing on the jigsaw inside part of the facemask :confused :confused :confused

Hey JMar how is your progress? I have almost completed a redo of the back piece and it is fitting the new chest piece rather well ... I am going to start the second helmet after i finish the back piece hope that comes out better I found that having the numbers outwards is a huge when it comes to having the pieces fit correctly ... hope things are good on your end!

Saber,

I'm run into a financial snag that may alter my plans a bit...

I'm going with a non articulated helmet, I've added the first coat of resin to it (smooth on 300, plastic resin, about 10$ more expensive that fiberglass resin but you can use it indoors).

As for the rest of the suit I may hardern it with paper nache and have a static model, or I may make a 'bust'. I'm not sure yet. At the moment the head, neck, chest piece, bi ceps, forearms, should bells and one hand is pepped.

looooooool, thats MY pick of my pepped helmet :D

the black thing is melted plastic hot glue stick. I didnt have a glue gun so i heated it over a candle which turned it black.

I used it cos that complex piece is quite fragile so reinforced it :D

Yeah this piece right here is a pain in the butt.... Been having problems with it too.... the cut must be precise or else it will not fit in the connecting slots..... frustrating lol

^ lol true. i am good at cutting but it was an absolute pain to bedn all the pieces and glue all the bits ans bobs together :p took me good 30 min to make both of them :)

wow JMar ... you been pepping faster then I have maybe if I had not made so many mistakes the first time through I might be further along but oh well what can you do ... lol ... I picked up some more paper today enough to complete the pepping process ... If you can will you show me a couple pics of your lid from the inside focusing on the eyes and the ears please so I can see how those look completed thank you ... sorry to hear you will not be completing the whole armor I hope that changes

In case anyone has noticed ... google is reporting that malicious code has been added to www.therpf.com ... it is most likely someone has added a coded signature with malware to their account ... this is what I think is most likely triggering the warning or maybe someone's avatar ... anyway just my two cents ... hope it gets fixed soon
