Iron Man Mark I Chest Piece?

I'm taking all of these ideas into account. Love the feedback! Nothing worse than to make something people don't like.

What I need is a small version of frankenstien in his hammock hoisted up in the air like he is going to be hit by lightening. I've got this very cool skylight in my new shop that screams this piece. Jackobs ladder too!

I still prefer the screen used setup with the ring on the prop, not the glass. :)

See what I mean about the glass. The edges are very green. Either it is breakaway glass or its real glass that breaks in a million pieces when broken. Looks very thick and the edges are just too rounded.

I could make the label too. Unfortunately it kind of takes away from the cool piece that the prop is by its self. I could always put it on afterwards.

::SMACK!:: You can't put a Mark 1 in the Mark 2 suit!:rolleyes What is wrong with you!!!!!!???

You really wanna get technical its a Mark 3 suit that he is talking about and Stark actually has to do this....so it makes sense.

:confused

Eeeeh, can't quit count the finished product as 3, it's different material for the same design.
But we've digressed:cool

The film and source materials refer to it as Mark 03 I don't see why anyone would and if you want to get completely technical the Mark 02 has tons of rivets and plating while the Mark 03 is streamlined and visually very different.

We can continue digress but the reality is that there is a Mark 01, Mark 02 and Mark 03. If you follow the comics there are up to 27 different models and Marks up to 7 and many of them are small but important material changes. :)

Rick, I returned your email earlier today.

I have to agree with everyone on the glass/plexi case. Its not needed as far as im concerned. If I change my mind, its easy enough to build one.

I still dig the label ring though. Most of my friends dont "get" props as it is. Im actually already betting on which one of them will look at it and say "Who's Tony Stark"? :lol:lol:lol:lol

I would love for this to be an independent piece from the base where you can pick it up and check it out like in the film while still having it be lit up...

I think LEDs are the way to go, they can't be that costly are they?

I've made a chest-piece that I think looks pretty good, considering that it's completely covered.

It looks a bit bluish, but the LEDs are white.

Even the camera's flash can't obliterate it.

My EE friend wired up some LEDs and a battery pack and I put in some foamboard spacers, a sheet of paper to diffuse the light, then another piece of foamboard on top with the proper pattern cut into it.
