Iron Man Mark I Chest Piece?

indeed, very effective.......I tried something similar but it didn't turn out half as bright as that.

Nice work!!

I've made a chest-piece that I think looks pretty good, considering that it's completely covered.

It looks a bit bluish, but the LEDs are white.

Even the camera's flash can't obliterate it.

My EE friend wired up some LEDs and a battery pack and I put in some foamboard spacers, a sheet of paper to diffuse the light, then another piece of foamboard on top with the proper pattern cut into it.
I want one!!!!

Ok I'm the guy making them.

It's just that I'm in the process of moving my shop to Portland. This intails moving Laser machines, CNC, Lathe, Drill presses, Pressure chambers, etc etc. I'll be making these while the Actors strike happens. Not much is happening this month. Production is a bit slow due to that. I'm looking for work but everyone is holding off until that gets settled.

If someone wants to move this tread that's fine. Once I have all in place I'll be building them asap. I've got all the plans and drawings. Not to worry. I'd post a picture of what I have, but it might blow your mind. PM me and I'll share with explanation of picture.

so please hang on just a bit, it's abig shop to move.

Once I move to my new shop I'll have a prop party and those who can attend are welcome to visit and I'll tour the shop.

Best to all
Rick

Nice! Sign me up! :thumbsup :D

Being a Portland native let me say Welcome! Portland's a perfect place for ANYthing creative :)

Edit - And definitely add me to the list of highly interested people for the 'has a heart' prop.

anyone have any close up or good pics of the mark 2 chestpiece? I want to see if there's any differences on the reactor's face, or if it's just the length/depth of the reactor that changed.

Moving in to my shop. Here are a couple of pictures of it before the roof has been repaired. Has a ton of skylights and big windows that open up. It has two professional spray booths and tons of storage. These are pictures before I move in all the equipment.

Mid month I'll be moving in the machines and beginning on my chest piece.

Rick, that looks so cool. Looks like you'll have plenty of room.

Can i emigrate and come work with you?lol

Not sure if there is an official interest list, but I'm certainly interested in one when the time comes. Your past work on all those famous films is testament enough to know you'll make this look wonderful.

I'd be very interested in any info when it becomes available.
Do you think this would be wearable as well as displayable?

I'm making one of these for my 10 year old nephew. His birthday is in a couple weeks. Mine won't be nearly as complicated as the screen version but I do want it better than just to throw under a shirt and shine through. I'm having a hard time finding an encoder wheel, or what looks like an encoder wheel just inside the outer core. Mine scales out to be 2.8" diameter. Does anyone know where to get encoder wheels? Any help would be appreciated. I'm running low on time!

Thank you,
Will
