Iron Man Helmet Project - NEW PICS

Re: Fully pepped Iron Man Helmet HD - Sharkheads Model

I finished cutting out the Sharkhead/dubean one yesterday, and just finished the face today. But this one looks awesome. Looks like I have to start cutting out some pep again. :p

BTW, the your pepakura helmet looks sic!!! :) :) :)

Re: Fully pepped Iron Man Helmet HD - Sharkheads Model

Thanks for all the kind words fellow RPF brothers. I hope that the resin/glassing/fixerupping goes well. I plan on casting it in resin.

Damn cool man, Sharkhead's pep file is really HD
still waiting for the next update :)

Re: Fully pepped Iron Man Helmet HD - Sharkheads Model

Yes it is. It has everything single detail. Grooves along crown, octagon on the chin, layered eyes, cheek grills. EVERYTHING! It is worth the time it takes to build.

That turned out awesome!! I haven't had a chance to even attempt building it yet, it has just been added to my ever growing list of projects. Anyway, good job man!!

Re: Fully pepped Iron Man Helmet HD - Sharkheads Model

Very nice!
I'm working on a build of this model too, and just have the cheek grills left. I thought the eyes were hard; the cheek grills might take me a couple of tries to get right!

wow looks great that looks like a pain staking pep

Re: Fully pepped Iron Man Helmet HD - Sharkheads Model

I threw the helmet on top of a neck seal I have yet to finish just to see how it fit. I think it looks great. I cannot wait to finish this helmet. I will be casting after that.

Re: Fully pepped Iron Man Helmet HD - Sharkheads Model

Take it with a grain of salt, maybe, coming as it does from someone folding his very first pep project (a Mjolnir Mk VI helmet), but that looks really good - nice clean folds.

Re: Fully pepped Iron Man Helmet HD - Sharkheads Model

Does anyone have a contact for Sharkhead? Since the 405th is down I have no way to get ahold of him.

Re: Fully pepped Iron Man Helmet HD - Sharkheads Model

I believe I answered this earlier in this thread. I honestly can't be sure. I work 9-5 through the week and my weekends are usually busy. But I put a good 3 weekends into it.. maybe 4-5 hours each day. I really took my time and folded/cut and glued everything with the utmost precision. I really want the casting to be perfect and I really want to save time having to reshape after sanding etc. Pictures don't do it justice. It looks must better in person.

nice and clean!
how much time spendeed assembling?

Re: Fully pepped Iron Man Helmet HD - Sharkheads Model

did you have difficulty doing the eyes? i'm working on the eyes right now and dayum, what a ƅitch!

Re: Fully pepped Iron Man Helmet HD - Sharkheads Model

Hey guys. I made some progress this weekend. Here is what I did.

I resined the outside then slushed Smooth-On 300 in the inside. It made this bad boy hard as a rock. I can literally squeeze in on any given side with no bending. I also did about a cm thickness too so I can now sand and dremel on the outside without fear of "breaking through to the other side."

I managed to sand and primer, sand and primer quite a bit. I need to pick up a dremel so I can re-establish the groove lines that distinguish the faceplate, grooves in side and cheek details.. but most of them survived thus far.

I plan on casting this so I want to work on it till it is perfect. Let me know what you all think. I will keep updating as I work on it.

How long its from top to bottom? Wide too? if you can tell us.
Again nice helmet.

Re: Fully pepped Iron Man Helmet HD - Sharkheads Model

Made some progress on the body of the suit. Please remember I am most likely going to display this only.

I don't have a way to wear it while taking the photo so the photos are just the pepped pieces on my shelf.

I plan on augmenting the bicep so that both side are filled in so I can cast and make a copy for other arm.... and then dremel out the cut out areas for armpit area.

The only piece I can't do this too is of course the shoulder bell. I wish it were symmetrical.
