Iron Man helmet differences

I'm sure the body pieces were CNC'ed and moulded, but I don't think they had made a CNC'ed helmet, it just doesn't makes sense to do twice the work having the sculpt already moulded, casted and cleaned, also the CGI model has a lot of details not present at the production helmets as well as at the sculpt, but who knows.

Anyway, here is the making off the armour: YouTube - The making of IRON MAN the Armor.

the whole suit including the helmet was cnc'd.

the Miles Teves sculpt was a maquette to visualise the concept in 3d. it was also used for paint tests but thats where it ended

That makes sense, since, as I pointed out a few posts ago, the two sides of the maquette differed. I can imagine it would have been a pain in the @$$ to try to then bring both sides into symmetry without wiping both out and redetailing both sides at the same time.

It took me a minute to see the design changes in the two profiles. Tricks the eye a little if you aren't looking for it. :)
