You need to go to your first post and click edit, then click advanced and it will let you change the title. I tried it twice on mine and it work so... Hopefully it will for you too! Your suit is looking killer there Maulfett, so close my friend!(y)thumbsup

Buenas Maulfett! (bueno, aqui en españa son las 5:00 am de la mañana xd)

Hace bastantes dias que sigo tu proyecto del traje y me parece impresionante el nivel de detalle que estas consiguiendo y la forma en lo que lo estas trabajando, increible :eek.

Hace unos dias, comenzé mi traje tambien (Mark VI) que es para mayo del 2011, asi que espero terminarlo a tiempo y decentemente, es lo importante. Por ahora, he construido el torso, pero viendo tu fotos, me ha surgido una duda. Yo tenia pensado aplicar por dentro de la pieza fibra de vidrio, y una vez seca, dar por fuera una capa de resina. Pero veo que tu aparte de la resina, has usado algun material para dejarlo completamente liso, y darle el detalle del metal (las uniones, lineas...etc) Y ahora mismo tiene un acabado gris. ¿Es algun tipo de masilla o resina? Es que no tengo ni idea de que usar, para conseguir esa textura lisa y a la vez, hacer las marcas de las uniones del metal, a ti te ha salido perfecto, y necesitaria que comentaras que has usado, si puede ser posible.

Yo utilizo resina por fuera y fiberglass por dentro, a veces utilizo fiberglass por fuera dependiendo la pieza por la imcomodidad, o por q avece utilizo muchas tablitas de foam o carton para estirar o expander la pieza de pepakura desde adentro hacia afuera por que a veces el cardstock es muy blando y se dobla, coloco tantas por dentro q no tengo espacio y po eso casi siempre coloco el fiberglass por fuera, si has seguido mi trabajo hay fotos de las tablitas der carton en algunas piezas de pepakura q he hecho.
Luego de la resina y el fiberglass utilizo una masilla en este caso bondo lightweight filler marca evercoat, pero cualquier brand puede servirte,
la primera capa de bondo es gruesa , por q cubre muchos imperfeciones y areas q tienes q redondear, para aplicar el bondo utilizas una tablita de plastico q viene con el bondo, espera unos minutos y le pasa papel lija 40
para reducir el exceso.
Segunda capa de bondo menos gruesa q la anterior (dependiendo si la primera capa cubriste bien), aplica papel lija 100 o 120,.
Tercera capa de bondo mucho menos gruesa, cubriendo hoyos pequenitos y rayasos marcados por el mismo lija, entonces pasa papel lija 220...
Puedes ser q falten una q otra capa liviana de bondo adicional pero todo depende como usted ha aplicado y lijado las capas, yo he aplicado hasta 6 capas en algunas piezas por no soy experto aprendi en el camino de este projecto y me tomo alrededor de 6 meses en terminar mi IM. Suerte y diviertese construyendo su IM.
consejo primero haga todas las piezas de pepakura en resina y fiberglass una vez esten hecha colocalas en un maniqui y observe las proporciones una vez este satisfecho con las porpociones avanza con el bondo, las lineas las hize con una regla de metal y dremel (rotary tool)

Ok, this is it, at last. I alway finish my projects.
It took me about 6 months, i could do it in less time but without job, not money, the bad weather rainning almost everyday, not to mention another personal issues.......i can say I did it, i had my own costume of Ironman, right now it will be for display only, on this costume i can wear the helmet, the complete arms from shoulder to handgloves, chest, back, lower legs and boots.
The abs, cod and thighs not because they are all in one piece for molding purpose.
I'm planning to make molds of IM next summer 2011.
I need a break to make another littles projects and resolve some personal situations.
I want to thanks all my personal friends and the friends of RPF specially my molding teacher Kagn, Vshore100, Warpig, Spideyfett, Dark Asylum, TMP, Finhead and the rest for following my job, SIWDAT for their support, and very important :thumbsupToly's Auto Paint Barceloneta P.R.,and ect.....ect.....

Thats not really any good...
That is FANTASTIC WORK and GREAT DEDICATION to a project. Also how you taken the time to explain step by step. I also want to comend you for your extra efforts for the details on the joints. It show you are a great craftman with very good skills!

This is one of the top 10 if not THE BEST Pepakura complete armor out there.
People will use you as inspiration to se it is possible to achive good ressult.

Maulfett, that is beautiful work. Congratulations on finishing a spectacular costume!

I really like the display stand as well, by the way.
