Iron Man 3 (Post-release)

Well my friend that`s your point of view and i respect that, but im not a 10 year old boy im 35. That movie felt fake after his house blows up.

I know shane black, this movie doesn`t feel like anything he has made in the past (predator, monstersquad, lethal weapon, the last boyscout etc)

And let me tell ya my friend Ironman I was a very cool movie.

But Ironman 2 blew nuts.

And there has been how many plot twist like this now?

Batman Begins, Japanese dude was a lackey. Ironman, Arabic dude was a lackey. Dark Knight Rises, Bane was a lackey. It has been done to death, and very recently, IMO.

And your first post on this was about the quality level of a 10 year old's, so it was hard to determine your age from it.

So you respect my view but to enjoy it I must be a 10 year old? lol only kidding. Most people seem to enjoy it with a few exceptions so I guess the money will roll in and everyone's happy. Only ridiculous bit that I decided I didn't like? Fire breathing.... That was way too far lol. Although it was 5 seconds and never thought about again so didn't let it ruin it.

BTW why does everyone hate that bad guys turn out to be lackey's? as long as they're smart and hard as nails who cares. Bane was in love with Talia so did it all for her. He was still the badass of the movie. It's like complaining about Rhodes being Tonys helper lol.

The problem with the twists being done to death is because of viewers getting harder to impress. What do you want? All original characters with all original story so its the exact same lol?

And theres soooo many movies.

And lets not forget they're making loads of money so they're doing something right. That's why the Mandarin bit I enjoed as much as I did. I never saw it coming. At ALL! And I was so worried about him being a badass but then because he's human the fight would be easy and Tony would just obliterate him. Anyone remember whiplash? Once his whips were avoided he was easy.

"Youuu'll neveeer seee me coming !" He even said it himself :lol
By the way, speaking of Rhodes, he did kick ass without his armor, but it would have been nice to see more Iron Patriot action ... Planning on going a second time this week, I really need to see it again in 2D.

I agree 100%. Rhodes himself was better. But no IP cannon action! Wtf! Not even once lol. Seen it 3 times. Once at the premiere in 3d and twice 3d imax.

What I find weird is that the introduction to the film is in comic form, and it hasn't been advertised very well... I only found out about it last night... after I had seen the film. The Iron Patriot looking so different from the IM2 war machine makes waay more sense now...

I think initially it was purley ment to explain where he was during the avengers movie. The comic itself has nothing to do to specifically tie in to the film. Youd probably be no better of knowledge wise about it. You just get to see the old color scheme. It just ends with tony hinting at his house party program. They do say that hes been rebreanded by aim at the start of the movie. But its not made perhaps as clear as it should. It honestly the comic doesnt say much about the film at all.

Having had my friend (whom i saw the movie with) read it, he said it really cleared up the war machine - iron patriot transformation, because the change from the original Mark 2 War Machine to the new War Machine V.02 Isn't covered in the movie. That's what bugged us both.

It just showed a picture of tony infront of the new suit having built it. Then war machine uses it. Nothing else. I really don't think any confusion was corrected with a simple picture of the new suit. Maybe a minor annoyance. But its pretty clear that Tony built it.
It definitley didn't clear the War machine to IP transofrmation lol. He was still war machine at the end of the comic. Nothing about the IP at all.

I can see why it would bug someone. But don't see why it would need clearing up.

Edit..
Just reading back. Hope i didnt sound off. It was just your initial post that seemed to imply it didnt make no sense. But I see from your second post it was more of a niggle. Lol.

i thought the film was brilliant , even though they didnt follow hardley any of the comic story i thought it was brilliantly done and you could connect with tonys anguish and the fact that he realises hes a little fish in a big pond , i think its good how he connects with harley too , and i liked the fact rhodey got a bigger part in this one , the only thing that kinda annoyed me would of been the mandarin twist , i mean no magic and the fact that they pretty much merged killins character with the whole aspect of the mandarin , but other then that they only way they could have made this film even more awsome then it was would be to have followed the comics characters and story a bit more , but no real complaints about the movie so all in all gota say id give it a 9/10 great film ............ im also looking forward to the dvd release to see what extras you get on it

Well the prelude shows tony giving the WM MK II to Rhodes saying that he hated what hammer did with the previous suit, therefor he made a new one for Rhodes to use. The iron patriot thing was explained in the movie, in the bar scene I think, Rhodes says that war machine was too aggressive and since he was working for the president, the USA paint job worked well with the public. It's just rebranding actually. But Rhodes knows better : "warmachinerox" !

Yeh thats what I was tryin to get at. Although it wasnt spelled out. It was hardly hard to get what was done. Especially since the ip resembles the mk 42.
Rhodey does know better.
Cos hes full of win!

Pretty good comic book actioner as far as I was concerned, it didn't follow the story line of extremis but there wouldn't have been much point in making it if it had.

The only thing that really annoyed me was how the house of a former arms contractor got taken out without any comeback. If this was even remotely realistic Jarvis would have dealt with the missiles and helicopters and then told Stark et al, about the threat it had just taken out.

I really loved this movie - as a movie. As an Iron Man flick, it's taking a beating (not at the box office - there it's beating The Avengers).

I'm a big fan so I have mixed feelings - the suits were indeed made of putty. I'm not sure what the point was there but it did make Tony's previous efforts seem far more robust. There has to be some thought here I'm not seeing.

Overall, it's a nice book-end and follows some of the comic story lines closely - but I do wonder "what next?!". The comics would have us believe the RT goes back in his chest. I doubt we'll see that - but who'd give up the ability to fly? Seriously!

There's alot of things that annoyed me about this film...if I wasn't an Iron Man fan I could look past it because of its entertainment value, but I left unsatisfied. Here's why: (spoilers)

They take an epic well established villain, turn him into a complete joke, then decide to make the scientist the big bad wolf all because he got his feelings hurt by Tony 13 years ago on a roof top and now wants revenge in the form of world domination. Funny? Sure. Surprising? YUP. But that's about it. Kind of a kick in the balls..

His suits...oh boy was I looking forward to the new suits and what they could do, too bad they got sliced up after a few seconds of screen time then blown to pieces with near zero indication of what they we're capable of. Even the star of the film, the mark 42, did nothing but fly around and fall to pieces. Anyone would think he ditched the gold titanium alloy for pepakura and body filler. The mark 3 took a tank shell to the face without leaving a dent for christs sake! Why did they 'reveal' half a dozen new suits before the movie, and then not actually use them for anything more than cannon fodder? Was the space suit even in the film?

Rhodey gets a new suit with a nice big shoulder cannon....that doesn't get used....not once.
An extremis woman grabs iron patriots wrist, Rhodey threatens her, and then instead of the bad ass battle involving the iron patriot and his new double-barrelled toy everyone was expecting, he's all of a sudden locked up in a dungeon. Did I miss something here? Maybe Aldrich should have just held Tony's hand from the beginning, seems to work wonders for disabling high tech suits.

They shot Rebecca Hall, she's too hot to die!! And her death felt meaningless, wrong timing.

To sum things up, for its entertainment value alone, I'd watch it again, it was the funniest of the 3 films. But for me, the rest was underwhelming. Sadly.

I am a personal believer that Shane unnecessarily blew everything up about iron man to take it in his own direction. Like I say I enjoyed it non the less. But it felt like everthing was getting blown away about iron man just for the hell of it.... the RT will devastate me if it doesnt return. I dont care if he needs ot or not. In Avengers tony said how its a part of him. Im sure ill still enjoy the future. But that action should have been saved for the final film.

i agree with dime , i mean whats next for tony now ? he blew up his suits , gets rid of the arc and has no iron man suit hes back to just normal tony , theres still avengers two aswell hows iron man gunna come back with no suit , and what was the point in making all them suits just to blow them up and not use them i mean i no he said they were all prototypes and he will proberly have all the specs on a harddrive but u no kinda bummed out that he blew em up lol

I just got back from seeing the film and I am a bid numb

I am being honest I don't read the comic books but am I right in thinking the whole Mandarin character was a let down?

After the Avengers and Loki i had hoped to see a super bad ass villain not a joke twist I understand then the real Mandarin was Aldrich Killian
and I think Marvel wasted the talents of Ben Kingsley instead of making him a joke I would have preferd Killian to remain nerdy and Make the Manarin so dark he was scary but that's just me.

As that's my main moan I thought the rest of the film was staged well from the beginning story to the present day and getting to know Tony Stark outside of the suit was good RDJ is a remarkable actor and perfect to play Stark and I hope he continues to do so.

I think the suites were an idea to make the movie more exiting not a main storyline only sad thing we didn't get to see what they could do were was Gemini :cry
And blowing them all up at the end was as Tony Said a clean slate is this the entrance of Ultimate Ironman ? for Avengers 2

A thought just occoured to me... Were the suits so feeble because Tony wasn't in them? The movie looks at whether the suit makes the man or the man makes the suit (or something similar); notice that the suits last longer when rhodey/tony are fighting in them... Could this be a movie effect to emphasise that it is the man who makes the suit?
(Also, i understood the war machine2.0 to IP transformation (a paint job), just not the hammerteched war machine to the stark war machine2.0, just to clear that up... )
