Iron Man 3 (Post-release)

Didn't have time to read the whole thread, but we just saw this yesterday. Didn't want to do 3D but that's all they were showing at the time we needed to go. The 3D was mostly a waste, except, as someone has already said, for the AF1 scene where it served great effect.

I loved the movie even despite its plot holes (I see no indication that Tony couldn't have had JARVIS send him a suit from the vault earlier, or even have that chest surgery earlier, for example) but while I *enjoyed* the Mandarin twist, I felt that it went against how much of a badass the Mandarin was/is *supposed* to be. Those ten rings aren't just for fashion sense, man! He's supposed to be basically supernaturally powered (though in the comics it's really alien science and tech); way more than a lowly "terrorist".

Just a quick question--when Rhodey (or whoever) is in a suit, do they have access to JARVIS? Or an equivelant?

Don't think so. In IM2 Hammer installed a different OS, and one presumes the military chose to wipe that clean and install their own after the Stark Expo debacle.

Was it a new os? I just thought whiplash hacked or patched it. On a side note. The mk 2 did have jarvis implemented. Yet stark failed to use him to stop his friend flying off. This although could be cos at the time he didnt care as he was going to die. On a further side note a sideline story could have had them steling or using jarvis to hammers advantage. I mean surely jarvis was security for the mk 2. All implemented. If they could remove him. Surely they could abuse the power

It's not quite definitive, but Hammer says when he first sees the Mk 2 that "the first thing I'm going to do for you is I'm going to upgrade your software."

Given Justin Hammer's ego, I took this to mean he was going to replace it with his own. Or rather, Whiplash did. Particular as Jarvis was unable to hack into War Machine later in the movie - he did try: "Jarvis, I need to own him." But Black Widow had to access the new War Machine OS from Justin Hammer's facility.
