Iron Man 3 (Post-release)

Well, I really enjoyed the movie... BUT as mentioned by so many others.. it was a huge let down for many of the reasons already mentioned. I feel like it could have been so much better... which is aggravating.

However on a different note, did anybody else hate the music in IM3? I noticed the "MARVEL MUSIC" in the credits... is marvel making its own music for the entire movies now? Seriously? I hated the music... I felt like the theme was way overused (like many other things in the movie), and it was terrible IMO. I felt like some of the great songs they put it in Iron Man 1 and 2 really gave that real Ironman/Tony Stark touch to the movies, and evoked some sweet emotion that was absent in IM3.

As someone already mentioned, there has to be AC/DC music in the Iron Man movies....it's almost like a law or something. Very bad music choices for IM3. :thumbsdown

I should have known this was going to happen after the Avengers. I predict by phase three Marvel movies will be like The Super Hero Squad Show. It'll have just enough decent material/CGI for me not to yank my five year old out screaming, "This is blasphemy!"

Will I write this movie is good, no. Am I going to tell you how it was, no.

I enjoyed the movie overall and thought that the show of Tony using his innovative mind to survive without his suits was well played. In the end I feel like there should have been more closure.
Being left wanting more is important at the end of a movie that will have sequals/related movies, however I feel that the movie was left too open. I can only assume that Stark will move to New York and set up shop permanently in what is now likely Avengers' Tower/Mansion. From there... not too sure.

I am a huge Shane Black fan, in fact this is the first Shane Black movie I didn't like.

Shane Black is the Godfather of "The Guy Film"
I had high hopes for this movie, my dad even wanted to go. But we both walked out knowing we just tried to retain too much information in too short of time. Some of the information was useless, when Killian tells the president he's doing this because of an oil tanker that was never ever mentioned to begin with. The Mandarin/actor thing pissed me off. They could have easily still made Killian under the rule of the Mandarin. I bought it and loved it from the beginning.

The "the suit works/the suit doesn't work" was irritating but still condusive to the story.
The multiple suits at the end and the ambiguous "Dark Knight Rises" style ending was too much. I didn't want that closure.

The kid engineer was a real amazing touch, that felt like pure Shane Black. The one liners were great. Is this my least favorite of the series, yeah unfortunately. Actually I do like it better than the second.

I don't know the inside skim, but I assume Shane Black had a killer script and story, but Hollywood kept sticking their finger in the pie. At least that is what I want to be the explanation on this movie.

Shane Black still kicks ass though.

The coolest part of the whole movie for me was right before the film started the trailers were in play and they showed the new Thor trailer (which doesn't look all that good either) - but as soon as they showed the Thunder God the kids sitting behind us (and my son and daughter as well) all yelled out "THOR!!!" and started clapping. I looked over to my friend and said "Did you ever think there'd be a day?" Both my kids and the ones in the theater were charged and I kinda felt like I'd missed an aspect of these films - the children of this generation have heroes they can look up thanks to these movies to and I'm pretty happy about that. So no matter how bad IM3 was to me - my son and daughter loved it - my son's only wish was that Tony slipped on the Hulkbuster armor during the fight. Someone posted earlier that this film wasn't made for the comic fans - well, looking back on it I honestly think this one may have been made for the kids and I'm fine with that.

Saw it yesterday in IMAX 3D. Enjoyed it. As others have said, it's better than 2 but not a good as 1.

Some more actual Iron Man action would have been nice although RDJ is always enjoyable.

I didn't see the Mandarin twist coming at all and was relieved by it. I was concerned going in that a generic Middle Eastern bearded villain was a bit unimaginative.

The suits at the end were a bit wasted.

I too missed AC DC and Sabbath.

My heart sank when they brought the kid on but he turned out to be well cast and not irritating.

I didn't understand how he had the MkI suit in his collection?

I didn't understand how he had the MkI suit in his collection?

LOL, I had been thinking the same thing since I saw it in IM2. Well, he still had the plans in his head (and in his computer while overhauling them to fashion the MkII in the first movie). I guess he could have made a copy to complete the collection? Or he found the bits and pieces in Stane's lab when Obadiah brought them over from the Ten Rings' camp to analyze and build the Iron Monger from?

Hulk Buster armor? Great scene of it entering the movie! I guess using it to prop up a bunch of steel and leaving it there was a great use of it....um no..

You do realise that was not the "hulk buster" armor....Correct? It was a "heavy lifting armor".... Called Igor. And it did its exact job.. lifting a heavy platform to stabilize it...

In IM2, in the shot where we first see the collection of armors, doesn't the Mk 1 have a holographic display over it that says something like "Reconstruction"?

found a cool picture of all the armors

WTF? Red snapper is levitating using willpower? He doesnt have his foot thrusters on jaja

It's already grossed more than the first movie and it only took 2 weeks, so technically it's hasn't just given the first movie a run for its money, it's completely running it over with a mack truck!

:lol I meant that in terms of being equal to or as good as the first movie. I'm actually having a hard time deciding which one is my favorite now.
