i gotta give respect to you and everyone that does these 42 suits..
the build process looking entirely mentally challenging, not to mention time consuming and labor costing.

sheesh. but when its done, its gonna look awesome. cant wait to see results.

Thanks man, appreciate that. I must say its a real personal challange for me to. I started loads of projects (not all armor making, different stuff to). But I have troubles finishing them. And this time I'm really going for it. This suit will! be finished! :). Also its my first real 'crafting' project and i'm exploring my own abilities. All the nice comments are a real good boost to morale aswell :D

Re: Iron Man 3. Mark 42 EVA foam build. Thigh's finished!

Hey guys, quick update!

I got one shin 90% finished. Due to my large feet, i had to add velcro to the sides to slide them on. You can't see the velcro at all so I'm really really pleased with that. Also they are a perfect fit. I'll finish both of them this weekend and maybe a start on the boots so more complete pic's comming soon. AND !!!!! almoust done with the whole suit (foam wise)

My shin pieces separate at the bottom too. It's super narrow.

UPDATE TIME!!

Legs done!! I'm really happy with these parts. They are the best ones I made yet. I'm really seeing myself improve on this foam work, hence why they are the better pieces. Almoust makes me wanne do the first ones over again -.-. Anyway here are pictures guys!!!

Looking good man. Will you be installing risers on the boots? It will help with the overall proportions of your suit

I might cut a rubber sole of rubber boots. And use those, they are quit thick and i'm quit big. Also the picture is taken by my gf on the sink :p so its kinda a 'top view' misleading you in proportions.

Thx!

This looks so great, The whole look is really good. I really guess the proportion looks even better with a better angle of camera.

Re: Iron Man 3. Mark 42 EVA foam build. Update: legs done!

WOW that is some amazing work!! I am still tackling my first pep helmet and it's a huge pain I can't imagine how hard the whole suit build is gonna be. What size foam did you use for certain parts? It looks like some foam pieces are thinner than others when they're layered. Could you share your details? Thanks and keep up the great work!
