i don't really like it ; i mean i like the concept but the color sheme should have been the asame as the others armor , also the design is nice but its kind of too early for an "extremis" armor in the fact that this armor is in his body. they should have continue the mark 7 with mor addition and maybe more weapons and not doing an slim pocket armor !!

As soon as I saw the suit the first thought that popped into my head was "auto-show." It just has an automobile finish to it I spose.
With that being said though, I actually really like it.

with extremis v1 tony does not have the armor inside the body, just that golden swimsuit
Paint should actually be really easy to match if it shows that color on film. There are quite a few auto grade golds that should match easy.

Thinking about the Extremis armor... Maybe the producers wanted to have a super detailed suit of armor before they moved on to a more organic suit?
Maybe it's modular armor, and we'll see some hulk busting?

its allready confirmed as an extremis type armor, its not stored inside his body, its the version one of the extremis, that flies towards his body and attaches itself. similar to the one in the avengers, just piece by piece.
also, it is confirmed, that hulk will not be in the movie.

Guys, I think I may have an answer for this.
Given the artwork of Iron Man being attacked in his home, I think the Iron Patriot is a retooled version of the MK 8. Look at the side ear vent and square cheek area. Also note the hand plates.
Also I think the chest area lines up better overall.

The helmets do look similar!
That's just lighting. You can see silver bits next to the abs, and there is a clear contrast
