Had to make the helmet 3 times before I got it down to my satisfaction.

After doing 3 coats of resin I had to try the legs on.

Upser torso came out pretty good. Had to heat it up a few times to fix warped areas.

Bad ass. You have the body type for it. What size is your waist? 28?

30 inch.. I actually had to lose 5lbs to make it fit just right. All those damn nights in the garage with nothing to eat but hot pockets took a toll LoL.

Awesome job man. Must have been a great feeling to step back, look at the suit, and say "It's done." I have yet to get the ball rolling and I'm already looking forward to that part.

Re: Halloween 2012 Ironman Costume

looks good , really good. complete too.

Re: Halloween 2012 Ironman Costume

amazing suit, did you use foam or pepakura fiberglass bondo method? How long did it take you to make? Fantastic job post more up close pics of it please.

Re: Halloween 2012 Ironman Costume

Did you go down the Foam route or the Pepakura card route?
Did you manage to get the faceplate motorised?

The suit is looking amazing! Great job

Definitely a great feeling when you're done.

All was done with Pepakura but the neck and gloves. Total completion time was about 6-7 months. But overall I think it was worth the time and effort. I'll have more pics up after the storm hopefully. Damn Hurricane Sandy

Awesome stuff. I just finished mine and I'm already tweaking it and upgrading it, quietly regretting every shortcut I took along the way, but without my deadline last Saturday, I would probably never have finished it. Take care of it and go win some money!

I feel you on the short cuts.. I did the same thing with mine. But hey I had a deadline too.
