Hi everyone i want to start on a life size joker ledger display but I have no idea where to start.Ive been reading threw posts here but I keep getting confused any help would be great.

I dont want to spend a real alot of money under $400.00 maybe.I was wondering if the rubies costume any good ?

Thanks
Billy

stay away from rubies. You can find reasonably priced "moderately" accurate stuff on ebay for cosplaying. If you want uber-accurate, Indy Magnoli or SithCamaro are your best bets. However, they aint cheap. Do you want a costume with overcoat and everything, or more like how he was in the interrogation scene?

The only inexpensive way to go would be the nurse or the bank robbery Joker. If you were looking at doing the main suit you will spend easily over your price range to make it accurate. I am getting ready to retire my costume and display it the same way after SDCC.

Thanks for the replies ok so the rubies is bad then ?

I was thinking about the regular costume but maybe interrigation or bank robber would be cool.

if you're looking around $400 an accurate interrogation scene costume is totally possible.

The only shirt out there that is worth an investment on is Indy's. It really all depends on just how accurate you want it and if its to actually be worn or just for display.

The thing that end up costing the most are the purple trenchcoat and gray blazer. But with any of the other options you dont need those...

I'd recommend my fabric for the hexagonal shirt :). Buying a couple yards from me and sewing it yourself or having a seamstress sew it will be cheaper than Indy's shirt. The fabric I printed is based from a vector image and has the correct hexagon repeat as well.

I ended up going for an interrogation scene joker display because I liked the makeup during that scene, and I didn't feel like sewing an overcoat....because I have too many other projects going on. The ones you can buy are either crappy or VERY expensive.

As for the pants, I would seriously dye some yourself. That is what I did, and the color turned out nicer than any pair I have seen. Some guys have some nice pants, but they are too purple. The great thing about pin striped pants is that the pin stripes wont take the dye like the main pant. I got a pair and dyed them heavily in purple and about 30 minutes in a blue.

I know someone who makes one of the best vests you can get and by far the most screen accurate. If you're interested in one of these or fabric, you can shoot me a PM!

Thanks for the replies but i cant sew so its going to be between bank robber and interragation joker ????????

Does anyone know what type of suit was used in the bank robber scene ?

For my bank heist costume I payed the following :

Blazer/Pants - $4 at Goodwill
Shirt that needs to be dyed - $3 at Goodwill
Shoes - Wait for screen accurate shoes, $20 dress shoes I already had
Bag - Like $30 shipped
Gloves - Free from an internet friend
Mask - Depending on what mask you want....Mine was $170, but I sold it, as I think I prefer make-up.

Total cost = About $230. (But now it's down to about $60, as I sold the mask)

And here's my nurses costume, which needs a belt and trim added still. Its a button down one, it should have a zipper, but I couldn't find a scource in the US for a zipper with pink trim. :

Dress - Around $40
Tag - Around $10
Watch - Around $20
Light Pen - A few dollars
Belt -Arpox $20
Shoes - Aprox $15-$20
Socks - $20+
Trim to add - $4

Total Cost - About $140 or so after shipping, etc.

About the suit, it's not cheap. :lol I've tried dyeing many pants, but it just takes on perfect find to get them right. Some pants have synthetic pin stripes, etc. And they just might not come out the way you want them. I just pick up all the light colored pin stripe pants I find at Goodwill. (Many pants dyed to bring you this information. :lol ) I don't know what I've spent on my suit, but I want my V2.0 to be a deffinite version. I'm looking at spending around $500 USD or so to finish it.

I still need a new coat, good pair of pants, and suspenders. (And socks from Tabio if I decide to get them). The pants I'm hoping I'll get from the Goodwill to dye. Like I said above, it's worth trying out evry chance for $2 a peice. :lol I know what coat I want as well, but I've not looked into pricing, so depending on the price of that, I'll know my ACTUAL spending ammount for it all. :lol

EDIT -

For my V1.0 suit here's what I have in it :

Shirt - Hot Topic Shirt $30
Pants - Goodwill pants/pants I already had...About $10 (a couple pair)
Vest - $40 for fabric + my mum's time to sew it
Tie - $30 Stafford Tie from JCPenny. At the time it was the best non-screenprinted tie available.
Blazer - couple bucks from Goodwill, lapel isn't correct, etc. but it was was best available. And cheap too, lol.
Gloves - $30 white leather gloves from amazon. ($25 gift certificate used.)
Coat - $70 Hot Topic Tripp coat. Same as the above, the best at the time, it's not lined, and IMO, a great buy for the price.
Shoes - $20 Dress shoes I use for the Bank Hesit costume, which I already had.
Socks - 20+ from the UK, same as Nurse Socks.
Chain - Free from sister

Here's what it looked like as of the end of September or so. :

Total - Around $260 or so before gas money.

For my V2.0 I've got :

Shirt - Kwally fabric $100? I don't know...4 yards of it,lol.
Tie - Indy Magnoli $60 (Yet to be purchased, need to realy bad.)
Pants - Haven't found any yet...
Suspenders - The diamond ones all the cool kids have...$40 or so.
Coat - I know what coat I want...No price avaialble, but I know what I want, lol. It's screen accurate is what I mean.
Shoes - Hushpuppie shoes that need to be weathered. Size 15's are hard to come by, so its these or bust. Got 'em from a friend.
Chain - Menards chain, just a couple dollars.

V2.0 Upgrades total - About $500-$600.

And if a V3 was demanded by evryone, I'd consider the following. :p :

Gloves - I'd like to have some darker ones, or at least some that show up darker in pictures. There's a diffrence in person/on film. Mabey V3.
Socks - Tabio socks if I decide I need them that bad. V3.0? Aprox. $30.
Vest - Proboly keep my old vest unless I find a screen accurate one...Mabey a V3 will come around
Blazer - Proboly keep this as well, if V3 happens I'll get it.

EDIT 2 - If I ever get that suit done, I wouldn't mind starting on the Police unifrom. :lol :p ;)
